Three Finishes Today
4 Attachment(s)
I am trying to finish up some of my UFO'S and here are three I finished up today.
The first one is done with some large triangle scraps I bought from a board member quite a while ago. The other fabrics I had in my stash. It turned out to be 60x60. I have made two I spy's with the triangles and this and there is still a huge baggie of them to play with. All different kinds of colors and fabrics. I pulled out all of the fall colored ones to do this with. The second finish is a zippered bag with great organizational pockets inside for my niece. I think I will braid some matching fabrics and make a handle for her to carry it cross body. (she is nine) The third is four pieces of embroidery my mom did and they needed to have something done with them. They have been sitting in a drawer. So, I made a little dresser scarf for my other niece that has mom's name as a middle name. Mom has been gone some time now. So, these are done and off to try to finish more UFO's. I am tired of them sitting around. I will use them or lose them this year for sure! |
Oh I like them all. the farm fabric is great in that design. Great idea!!
Oh dang the quilt top turned out to be 52 by 60. Oops! LOL...
Thanks nativetexan. I kind of like how there is a far away farm scene and the close up (mountains?)of different birds fish, horses and leaves. Kind of different than any thing I ever made before. |
Love the way you did the farm one!
All three are just beautiful. I really like the way you did the farm quilt.
They're all very nice! I particularly like the dresser scarf.
Great finishes!
beautiful finishes, great work!
All three are very pretty.
They're all wonderful, but I must say the dresser scarf you made for your niece from the lovely embroidery your mom made is extra wonderful! I'm sure your niece loves it too.
Regards, K |
You made excellent use of your materials. I especially like the first one because of its unusual treatment. I am certain the others will be extremely well received as well.
Nice projects and finishes, but my eyes were really struck by that bag. It looks very professional and I am wondering what pattern you used.
I really like the first one because it has horses in it. very nice UFOs.
Lovely works! Love the fabric on the bag.
they are all very nice i really like the first one!!
Wonderful finishes. All three projects are beautiful. I especially like the dresser piece using embroidery from your Mom. Your niece will cherish that I am sure.
Thank you girls for the encouragement and compliments. I really appreciate your comments.
Yooper, there was no pattern. Sorry. I have just made so many bags, I knew how I wanted it to be and went for it. The fabrics for the bag was a gift from a generous quilt board at christmas three years ago during the secret santa swap. They came in this very cute little metal tin of candies by moda. Funny, the last project border was from a jelly roll I bought from a board member some years ago too. So all of these projects had board member fabrics in them I had been hoarding. |
The design of your first one is a great landscape. Your mom's embroidery really looks nice in that panel.
Very nicely done. Love the fabrics you quilted making the darling bag.
Great job on all!!! Thanks for showing them.
Three lovely finishes. A lovely tribute to your mother's previous work.
Very nicely done. What a beautiful way to gift the treasure done by your Mom. Great job.
All are beautiful. Glad you finished them up.
Garnet, you are on a roll and I can see you are determined to get some of your wonderful UFO projects done.
The bag for your niece is beautiful ... and how thoughtful of you to make the table scarf of your mother's embroidery for your Mother's namesake granddaughter... I'm sure she will cherish it. You do beautiful work. |
You were busy and very productive. Great job on all three.
Love that triangle quilt. What a clever use of the scenery fabric - I am not clever and would never have thought to use it in that way. Your other projects are great also - it must feel good to have finished up 3 UFO's. Congratulations on that!!!
Beautiful projects! Finishing three in a day is quite a feat. My goal this year is to reduce my UFOs and not start a bunch of new projects. Not easy for me.
They are all wonderful and so is your quilting.
Wow, love them all. Great work.
Very nice, I like them all, but I really love the first quilt!
I very much like the pictorial fabric bands in your triangle quilt. It really pulls everything together nicely.
All three are beautiful, but I especially like the bag.
Congrats on the great finishes!
Thanks so much everyone! I had just finished three new summer dresses for my neice and was ready to get some of my quilting things finished up. I still have a small drawer of little objects and a bin of tops to quilt. But, I feel good about finishing these.
Nice finishes.
Great finishes. I am captivated by the quilt, what a great way to use that fabric, so much to look at, just like being on the farm. Did you use a pattern or design it yourself?
All three of them are very nice. My favorite is the farm quilt.
Thank you so much! I designed it myself. I don't know where it came from really. I was just trying to find a companion fabric to set the UFO triangles with and it occurred to me that this would be an interesting set for them. A happy marriage of fabrics. I love fabrics and I think that is the real star in the farm quilt. Simple but effective, right?
Have a great week everyone. Happy sewing! |
I really like the first one. What a great layout and use of fabrics.
All three are just beautiful :)
