Three More Donation Quilts

1 Attachment(s)
I've made a bunch of these the last two years. All 3.5" squares, and these have pieced backs and bindings as well. I've used a lot of scraps, but there are many more to use! The quilts are 62" x 74". I'll be taking them to the agency where I donate them later this week--just in time for their holiday giving.

I do them as leaders and enders, so it's not as repetitive as it may seem! :)

bearisgray 12-03-2019 11:46 AM

I like them.

When someone says "quilt" - something like that comes to my mind.

Sharonquilts 12-03-2019 12:56 PM

Nice quilts ... love all the colors.

cathyvv 12-03-2019 01:05 PM

Blueridgebeverly 12-03-2019 03:23 PM

The quilts are beautiful! I hate to admit I don’t know what leaders and enders means but it sounds very useful for using up scraps.

AprilM 12-03-2019 05:04 PM

Wow - beautiful!!!! Wish i was that productive! Sometimes even just one donation quilt (or any quiit for that matter) takes me forever.

sewbizgirl 12-03-2019 05:23 PM

I love those! They look so cozy and inviting to wrap up in. Someone who gets one is going to be very happy! Thank you.

Beverly-- typically leaders they are equal sized squares that you sew together before running your "good" fabric under the needle, which sometimes "eats" the corners." Enders are ones you can use after , although I've never had a problem once I've gotten started chain piecing. Eventually all the 2 patches add up to 4P, 9P, etc. So you are essentially making a second quilt as you make your current one.

Really like your donation quilts!

copycat 12-04-2019 03:32 AM

Thanks for showing your lovely patchwork quilts! I like the white or light squares beside the colorful squares. Looks like the other side of the quilt is more scrappy with all colors playing together. Thanks for sharing your projects! I have never done a scrappy quilt but now I feel inspired to start one. I like to buy 5"charm squares, so this would be a great project to give them a home. :))

luvstoquilt 12-04-2019 04:24 AM

Wonderful quilts and will be greatly appreciated.

Bug Lady 12-04-2019 04:34 AM
