my oldest grandaughter likes flowers, so i made her a stained glass garden quilt; my great grandaughter wanted kittens, and purple and pink were her colors at the time -- i lucked out and found the perfect material to fussy-cut her pattern. my daughter loves all things with iris, so i paper-pieced a quilt-as-you-go quilt.

Have been looking through all of your posts and your quilts are delightful! I really like the stained glass flowers in this post. You have a wonderful sense of color and placement on all of them.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What great examples of expert workmanship. The main ingredient I see coming through is lots of love. Your family must be thrilled with their quilts. Since we all seem to be voting, I'm going with Quilt #3. The paper pieced iris is amazing. I've never seen anything like it -- so delicate. I might just have to give quilt-as-you-go a try.

thank you, momtobostonterriers...... i liked the iris, too! it was a paper pieced pattern i found in allcrafts quilting section. i looked a long time, for a good pattern to try the paper piecing technique.

akgranny 07-15-2010 09:21 PM

alaskasunshine ....... have had most of the good stuff at apollo's! are you here in seward or nearby?

annette1952 07-15-2010 09:21 PM

So beautiful! I am impressed with all of your quilts I have seen. Great work!

akgranny 07-15-2010 09:29 PM

margie ..... the individual blocks were from here and there; i just picked the things i liked and put them together. i was trying to learn different techniques for making quilts. if one was an odd size, i made it to conform. it was fun collecting the blocks and making them work.
