Three Quick Hot Pads
3 Attachment(s)
Here are 3 hot pads I made this weekend. I had some scraps to use up and a friend had asked for some.
I got the idea for the swirled feather quilting design from a quilt just Charisma posted--Thank you, Charisma! They are about 9" in diameter and have a couple of layers of batting. Next time I'll add another layer or two of batting, but then I'll have to quilt each side separately before I put them together so that I can get them under the foot of my machine. They were a such fun little project! |
very very nice! Really like this! Really!
I would not let these touch a greasy pot:) Too beautiful to use!!
These are very pretty! :)
These are NICE! Great idea for the double batting!
Very pretty hot pad!! You did a great job on the quilt design!
Really a nice change from squares and very lovely.
Very pretty - actually, too pretty to use especially for everyday. I would wait for company and then show them off!
Very nice and the quilting is great!
I think they would make lovely trivets. Thanks for sharing - the design and quilting are gorgeous.
You did a great job!! They are very pretty and so well made. I look at Charisma's work for ideas too.
How did you cut/sew the round binding? I would love to know.... it is perfect... to match the rest of your hot pads!! Beautiful.
These are great. Did you use a double layer of batting because of the heat from items that could be placed on top? You could have used a product called insul-bright. Used for heat related items. Works great if you didn't want the bulk form the batting.
Love the trivets. |
really really nice! i'm super impressed with your binding...can you tell me how you did it??
I would not let these touch a greasy pot******I agree!
Beautiful! What a lucky friend! They would make a great hostess gift.
very nice..love that quilting motif!
Beautiful work - pretty enough for mini-table centerpieces...
SO pretty. They would look fabulous in my kitchen and I'm with erstan947 - no messy pots touching these!
Awesome, I like them alot. Thanks for sharing.
They are beautiful!
Both are really nice !
Perfection! Love them wendy!
very nice, but how in the world did you get them so ROUND??
They're beautiful and the oh so "round" is what I noticed first too...amazing!
Great job!!
Really nice. Never would've thought of that. Did you use Mylar or something insulated?
You might not have to use so many more layers of batting. |
Great idea! Personally I find the ones you buy slippery so I make mine.
very nice you did a nice job!!!
They are great! I can't even see where you joined the binding! I like the third hot pad best because I think the center swirl looks like a rose. I loved Charismah's swirl design when I saw it too!

Nice work. Thanks for the tip about about using more batting and quilting each side separately. I never thought of that.
