I have been working on these three projects to get them finished up. I promised myself to finish what I had started before beginning anything else. So here are three of them ... the floral quilt top is a bom from a local quilt store, called Sandi's Lessons from the Lake, by Sandi Ray. I have to chose borders for it now because I hated the ones they had one it. The second one is a McKenna Ryan pannel that is in need of the embellishment and quilting. The last one is a pumpkin wall hanging that is finished. The maker is happy hollow I think. It is like a watercolor quilt in the construction.

Wow! They are all beautiful. I can't believe how sharp the sunflower petals are. That must have taken you forever!
Likey? I lovey them All! The silhouette of the bird is awesome. You did a great job!
Thanks so much! That is a raw edge iron on applique method. It didn't take more than a day to do so far. Her patterns are like playing with paper dolls. Lots of cutting little objects.
Beautiful! I love them all! And I'm so jealous of your dedication to finish things. Send me some of that!
Huh Chele ... I wish I had more of that staying power myself. That is how I got into this mess. I have a stack of these still waiting to finish up ..
What color do you think would be good to finish up the queen sized top? I have to go shopping today for the border fabric and batting/backing. |
Ooooo, GREAT JOB!!!
Very Nice!!! You have been very busy :D :D :D
Great jobs, I particularly like Sandi's Lessons.
I love them all!! You are doing great job of finishing those WIP :D
I love the sunflowers. Nice work on all three.
Beautiful!!! I think the sunflowers are my fav as well, but I like them all
Every one of your quilts are beautiful. Your pumpkin made me smile - very cute. Great work on all three - I love the middle one!
Oh I love them all Red, but especially the sunflowers, it has such alot of 3D impact WoW!!!! :D :D
My FAVORITE is the "Lesson from the Lake" pieced top. I LOVE the colors and arrangement. Great Job!
good going, Red! :D
Great job!! I love Sandi's lesson the best..oh no. another one on my list of to do's. LOL
:D Thanks everyone! I had fun doing the Lessons at the lake one ... Although setting it almost made me lose my mind. LoL! The border is supposed to be mostly a garnet red, but, I hate that. So .... any ideas?
I really appreciate all your nice comments. It is a joy to hear! |
I love them all!!!! Especially the flower quilt!!!
Beautiful work. I love them all.
Thank you kimmers and littlehud! Yes that is my favorite of the three too. Mostly because I know how many hours I spent on it.
The next one is a old mystery quilt from the 2008 mccall's quilting issues. It is a girly girl quilt with tons of butterflies, hearts and flowers in pink and blue florals. That one should be very intense to make, but fun. Gotta stretch yourself right? |
Red those are AWESOME!!! Hard to pic a favorite...but I can tell ya the pumpkin sure made me smile!!!!
Wow ...Thanks for sharing.....I don't know which one I like the best they are so cute....:-)
Me likey alot!!
The one with the kitty, just put in a squishy and send to me. I'll give it a good home! :) :) |
Thanks so very much! I can't tell you how much it tickles me to have all you great quilter's tell me this. The hand applique was a challenge since I don't do much of that.
I really need to figure out what to use as the border for that quilt. Any suggestions? |
Red, those are fantastic! I think the sunflowers are my favourite but then I love sunflowers! The pumpkin is really cute - Skeat would love it, she's got a pumpkin thing going on! A border for the flowers quilt - how about a darkish inner border, tone on tone, using a colour from the quilt then an appliquéd outer border with some of those flowers with the leaves either side on a trailing vine? (go on - you KNOW you want to do more hand appliqué!) then bind with more of the inner border fabric?

Love them all - can't pick a favorite!!!! You can send me anyone of them and I would be happy. You must be a perfectionist!!!.

ButI can't see a bird and it's driving me crazy, where is the bird? |
:-) Thank you... thank you... thank you! Sweet words of approval.
I try hard to do my very best each time I make something. I try and chose something that would take me just a little further than my skills are, it forces me to learn. A hint cynde ... The cat is looking at it! Lol! It is intended to blend into the picture. The next step is to do the free motion outlining and embellishments. That is going to be the fun part. I want to find a hot fix crystal that is a very dark teal blue for his eye. I will try and think of something a little less labor intensive for the ending of that quilt. I get too picky with the applique. I want this finished in my lifetime. LoL! Maybe some golden like the center with small prarie points to bring out the color with some intrest? I guess we will see. |

and then I finish reading the email I quoted and see: I don't want to do anything fussy ...and the prairie points ...
the thing I am seeing is HEY! Fabric that looks like rocks? like a path walking around your cat/garden/ and window frame? ... if the color is too great in contrast, it could be very hmmm.. not sure of the word... Oh, heck, Red, it looks like you know what you are doing and you really didn't need any advice <g> Good deal! |
Omak! I want to finish off the yellow quilt top! LoL! The other one is finished the way it is. It will be framed after the embellishments and quilting is done. That is a block that normally goes into a huge wallhanging by mckenna ryan. But, if you know anything about her stuff everything is too pricey for me to do a whole one. That is crazy!
Thanks for looking at it and trying to figure out what to do with it though. That was very sweet of you. Here is her site to check out some of her quilts ... She lives very near my son and daughter in law. This one is in the "storybrook farms" multi-block quit. http://www.pineneedles.com/ |
:D :D :D Very nice! I likey them all. You are so fortunate to have a clever quilt shop that does something other than boring stuff. Good job on everything!

Me likey a lot! Do any of them need a home?
Oh my, why didn't you finishes these sooner??? They are wonderful.
