Last week I was lucky enough to find this sewing table for 20.00 at the St. Vincent De Paul resale and today I got this haul at the Goodwill. A Suduko Beard game- 5.99, large cut of fabric- .99, a wire storage unit- 5.99 and a Baby Lock BL302 serger for 12.99 at senior discount day prices, all for 19.00.
I'm having trouble with the second picture so will try a second posting

Took a picture with my phone since the other picture wouldn't upload.

I have this table and love it.

Jingle 07-10-2012 05:49 PM

You sure hit the jackpot. Good for you.

TexasSunshine 07-10-2012 06:39 PM

I have this table also, bought years ago with my Pfaff Creative 1471.

kitsykeel 07-10-2012 07:06 PM

Oh to find a serger for such a great price. Would love to have one but won't pay the big bucks for it, so I'll just keep looking. DH and I go to thrift stores every week and I have found some great machines but no sergers. Lucky you. Enjoy your haul.

oma66 07-11-2012 07:20 AM

Wow, what a find. It could have been mine as I have shopped at that same store...LOL. I am glad you got it all - it is quite a haul for sure. Enjoy your great finds - I love it when that happens.

Please meet Lovey. She's a Tabby/Siamese mix. I love how talkative she is thanks to her siamese relations.

Thats what I would say was a great SENIOR day!

Debbie C 07-12-2012 03:22 AM

My mom bought this table many years ago from the JC Penney catalogue. I remember she paid $19.99 for it way back then! When her macular degeneration ended her sewing days, all her sewing items came to me. I use it this table daily.

I have this table, too. My mother had it with her Viking sewing machine. It's quite heavy and very sturdy.

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 07-12-2012 04:09 AM

What a deal on the serger. it looks new.

chips88 07-12-2012 04:16 AM

nice finds you have there. :)

Drw52372 07-12-2012 04:22 AM

How does the table work? It looks sort of small to me. Could you take a picture with the machine on it and post. Very interesting.

Delta 07-12-2012 04:31 AM

cool and love the cat in the background.

delideb64 07-12-2012 04:36 AM

What great finds you got fromthe Thrift store. Never know what you are goingto get when you go in one :)

Lyncat 07-12-2012 05:20 AM

Wow, great deals. Maybe I need to start shopping on the other side of town, because the pickings are thin on the west side!

Great thrift store finds.

In the left corner of the first photo I spied a chest just like one I used to have. It orginally was a secretary/desk that my MIL had that she painted beige. The top was broken so badly that DH had to cut it off and I used the bottom as a desk, the front dropped down to form a desk and it had little cubby holes to put papers, etc. I antiqued it and used it for at least 25 years and sold it at a yard sale for about $25 dollars. Imagine my surprise when I saw it at a local antique shop advertised as a
'gentleman's desk' with a price tag of $250!

Halfsquare 07-12-2012 06:08 AM

Fabulous. I would be terrified to purchase a serger I didn't know anything about. You must be a very experienced serger. Seems to me that in the long run the older ones are perfect. probably easier too.

Sweeterthanwine 07-12-2012 06:12 AM

Great finds!! I'm always looking at the thrift stores for good buys. What is someone elses junk is always someone elses treasure.

Pieces2 07-12-2012 06:12 AM

Great stuff, aren't thrift/resale shops fun.

JReadman 07-12-2012 07:15 AM

Wow ~ nice finds!! Guess I'd better start hitting the thrift stores more often.

cny_sewer39 07-12-2012 07:31 AM

I bought this table years ago for my Bernina 830 Record, and took off the top section when I got my Janome6600P a couple years ago. It is still serving me well, altho I have to add a card table beside it when working on a larger piece. You got some great bargains, girl!

pippi65 07-12-2012 07:22 PM

What a great find!! You lucky duck!! Have fun with all your goodies.

JBeamer 07-12-2012 08:00 PM

I am fairly new to quilting. I know you serge the edges of materials to prevent fraying but what else can you do with a serger?

jojosnana 07-12-2012 08:05 PM

What a great day you had. Enjoy.

1screech 07-12-2012 08:48 PM

Sounds like a great haul to me.

justflyingin 07-12-2012 08:49 PM

That serger for 12.99--if it works and does need major repair..what a deal! Great job!
