My husband was impressed with the machine. My daughter said she'll bring over the machine that is causing her problems......thinking I might be able to fix it....never know...turn a little tension knob...oh, maybe it needs oil?? Couldn't go wrong with the price......

: )

Nice little machine!! Thrift shops are so "hit or miss" that it feels so good to finally find something great!!

Gerbie 02-20-2011 07:04 PM

Me too, but I can't we don't have a true thrift store here. We have a store called treasures, but nothing really there just a lot of glassware, and other stuff the owner buys from garage sales.

Oh wow. Lucky you.

I've got one of those! It is a real workhorse! You got a famtastic bargain!
In the picture, you don't have the outside end piece of the case slid in, it goes in front of where the bobbin is, to make a larger area to hold the fabric, while you are sewing.
If you got the owners manual of directions, look at it to see how it slides in. You can keep bobbins, and needles and a ripper inside it, too -it is a kind of storage box.

I was wondering where that little "box" fit. I checked the manual for threading, but not where to attach it.
Thanks

Ooh! I want to take you along when I shop - great find! My first machine was a White that was excellent for all the 20 years I had it. I sold it after I inherited my mom's Elna, which I still have. When I offered the 1966 White at a garage sale (too cheap), it was snapped up immediately by a guy who told me he owned a tailor shop. He'd asked to plug it in and try it, and I'd noticed a smile spread across his face as he listened to that baby hum. At least it went to a loving home.

White machines are wonderful !! I have my moms old one that is made of metal. Several years ago I bought the "Quilters Star" before I got my Bernina. Very nice machines .What a bargain you got! Even if you had to buy the piece that is missing.

jhoward 02-21-2011 08:26 AM

I found the little drawer/storage 'deal', it's now in place, with the tools/accessories. Did I say the machine was in the original box?

grammysews4u 02-21-2011 08:29 AM

YEAH !!!

brenda21 02-21-2011 08:34 AM
