Completed today. Took me ages to select my fabric as I did not want to do a regular coloured horse. Once I had my fabric selected it went together quite quickly. The pattern is by Bigfork Bay Cotton Company called Spring Storm. Now to do the quilting! Hope the picture is clear enough.

This turned out beautiful! Sometimes we just don't think to do things in anything other than their "true" colors. But this really is amazing! I LOVE it!

mmonohon 02-03-2011 09:16 PM

Fabulous!! Two of my faves, horses and pink. I've been to the Big Fork Bay Cotton Company store and it is great. They have a lot of nice fabrics. I live about 3 hrs from there.

I love it! That's a really dynamic and complimentary color palatte considering the traditional colors for horses making it very striking and unique. Someone is going to be very happy if you're gifting that! I'm jealous!

Explosive blessings, abundance and inspiration to you all!

BluegrassGurl 02-04-2011 08:05 PM

A true work of art!!! Beautiful.

sharone 02-04-2011 08:10 PM

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful compliments. Before I chose the pink I had scanned in the pic of the horse and used a programme to show me different colours and combinations and possiblities of how it would look. My initial choice was blues and then I went onto sunset colours and finally settled on pinks. This quilt has no home but I will probably keep it for myself and hang it up in my sewing room.

I have seen this horse done in traditional 'horsey' colors - one hangs on the wall at Bigfork Bay Cotton Company. This is such an interesting contrast to the usual.
By the way, I live in Bigfork, MT & frequent the Bigfork Bay Cotton Company. They have lovely fabric, patterns & especially nice staff working there. Next trip to the quilt store, I'll tell them just how far their patterns have travelled!

DebraK 02-04-2011 11:40 PM

I'm not a pink lover, but the quilt is entrancing. (ignore my avatar, it was a gift)

lalaland 02-04-2011 11:57 PM

That really is gorgeous!
