Is this too busy... does it give your eyeballs a headache???
These are strips of material only, no piece work. |

The one on the left works, but the one on the right is intense. Still like it, though. Which is your fav, ThreadHead?
Threadhead, I like them, they are visually very interesting. These would look great in an office lobby or in a long formal style entry way. Definately conversation pieces.
The one on the left is great!
The one on the right the outer rows work very well, but then as you go toward the center it loses the pattern of the block in the various prints. Perhaps if you used a smaller print to play with the red...and reversed the order of the two rounds that form complete diamonds...not sure if that would do it or not. |

I make them for my older kids 53, 54, and 56, and grandkids. I have a 7 year old granddaughter who thinks she's a diva and tries to dress one. She likes the one on the left too. lol Syl |
The one on the left makes your eye dance too much - it's lacking a focal point. However, the one on the right, IMHO, is less chaotic. Thanks for sharing.
I like the first one but the second one makes me want to look away.
I think they are beautiful
I like both of them. I love color.
They remind me of jewels for some reason. Not to busy for me.
What are the sizes of the quilts please? Visually one on the right seems to lose the design as there isn't enough contrast (for me) to make each of the inner designs distinct - and at the same time show the relationship between
all the fabrics used which for me loses cohesion. That said, I do not have the artistic freedom you show and tend to stick to more staid patterns (cluck, cluck - chicken). Like the one on the left best. Anymore I let the people I am making quilts for choose fabric and pattern and make improvements I think necessary to work. |
I like the way they they look. They are very unique. The colors are bright and beautiful.
Both are pretty but the one on the right is sort of confusing.
The one on the left is my choice
Well I love them both! I admire the time you've spent making each like square so exact. Even your mitered corners are perfect. I wouldn't change a thing on either. You do beautiful work!
I like it very much but then I am not a tradional quilter. Just do it though and go with what you like. I like them both.
They look good to me!
A little busy for my personal style but I think they are pretty

They are both about 75 square even tho the pics don't look like it. |
I like both of them. Very nice.
They are beautiful--like'm both!!
#1 is very appealing to me, #2 loses the diamond pattern. I think it should be different if you want it to stand out more. It's very interesting tho.
nice but im a tradional quilter
I, too, like the one on the left. Not sure why I don't care for the one on the right.....it just seems "scrambled" to my eyes. But it would work as a wall hanging in a large space. It's just not restful to me, but sometimes restful is not what is always needed. What do you plan to do with these?

wow! love the vibrancy--wouldnt change a thing!
At first I thought the one on the left...but went back and really looked, and I actually like them both..when you say no piecing, only fabric strips, do you mean you somehow cut all the fabrics where it looks like individual pieces, but actually they aren't? I usually "get" things, but this is "getting" me!! :p
Regards, Kif |
I don't find them busy.....I think they have a very folksy, ethnic vibe.....I especially like the medallion.
Potential centerpieces for medallion quilts?
Not enough color contrast in either for my taste.
I like the both.
I like them both but prefer the one on the right. I think it is beautiful. Nice colors. Very dramatic.
I like both of them.
I love them both. When you cover one up and look at the other separately, there is no "dueling" going on. They are beautiful.
Too busy for me Have a Blessed day Ellen
they are busy but pretty
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!
