I think it is beautiful. First thought was Easter and a bunch of jelly beans! Which one to pick first?

JLD 03-15-2010 07:21 PM

I love it! Looks great! Good job.

Jim's Gem 03-15-2010 07:26 PM

I like it!!! It looks great!!!

Fabriholic 03-15-2010 08:03 PM

Sue, I think you did a great job with the colors. How about after the white on white border you use the turquoise and then the (deeper) purple? Just a thought.

Di

LucyInTheSky 03-15-2010 10:19 PM

I really like it. Your border plan sounds great.

Lisanne 03-16-2010 01:07 AM

No, not at all! Your colors fit together very well. It's a charming pattern, and I'm sure the child who gets it will just love it.

I think it is perfect and it is nice and bright, reminds of spring flowers. You did a great job, should bring lots of money for the school.

jstorm67 03-16-2010 05:34 AM

I like it...for me I would have to change it just a bit...1st square has yellow triangle on top..I would then put a yellow top in 2nd row, 2nd slot, then yellow 3rd row 3rd slot so that they go on a angle down and continue that way...with 2nd square having purple top, then purple top row 2-3rd slot, row 3 - 4th slot..etc...make since..I do love the pattern and colors for kids school auction..if you do a little more consistancy in the laying out of the squares it might appeal to more people...just a thought

Dancing Needle 03-16-2010 05:40 AM

Super cute!

Aurora 03-16-2010 06:47 AM

I learned something at quilt guild yesterday. No matter how I feel about my quilt blocks, there will always be at least one person who thinks they are great.

As you can see lots of us feel this way. I think whatever border you decide will set off the quilt.

dixiechunk 03-16-2010 07:03 AM

I love it! Wouldn't worry about embarassing anyone.

quiltincharlotte 03-16-2010 09:40 AM

Olivia's Grammy 03-16-2010 03:08 PM

After reading your opening sentence I wasn't sure what to expect. My first thought was 'oh cute.' Nothing to be afarid of to show this off.

dkabasketlady 03-16-2010 04:29 PM

I went back and looked at the quilt-top again and my eyes wandered to the right upper corner where I see a secondary pattern emerging. If the 5th block (blue) was switched out with a yellow/purple it makes a very cool prism-effect (IMHO).

Oh no, this is not an embarrassing quilt or an ugly one. It is very attractive and definately a female quilt as opposed to a male quilt. Darn I don't seem to know how to add one of those smily faces. I just get a :D

jdavis 03-16-2010 05:17 PM

I don't think you've gone too far at all!
It should be just the ticket for your target audience!
Nice job!

zz-pd 03-16-2010 07:06 PM
