Well I just got home from the baby shower and I did go ahead and give the quilt. The mother loved it, the grandmother loved it, and as the gifts were passed around the room, most of the guests lingered over the little quilt to touch it and look at it closely. So I guess it was a hit, despite my apprehension... The grandmother (my friend) told me those were the mother's "colors", exactly. She said they were so NOT into traditional baby colors, they painted his room gray. So, okay... Can't ask for better than that. I guess I'm just some kind of perfectionist snob that I didn't think the quilt was gift-worthy... Ha! :thumbup: :thumbup: |

I don't think it is ugly and agree with many of you that it is a quilt a little boy can grow up with. A baby isn't a baby for very long!!!!!

I like it a lot better than the chocolate & teal or pink & brown that the young mothers all seem to be going for this year. I think your quilt looks "homey", warm & comforting and with the subdued colors; is fitting for either sex.
