Bright and subtle...the colors are perfect. Is this the three dimensional bow tie block? I made my first one at the quilt retreat I just came back from...KEPT THE SAMPLE!!! It was difficult to figure out, and several of the experienced gals flubbed up. GREAT JOB!

Poor sweetie! It really does look nice, though!

boy do i know what your talking about. First time I tried to make the star block I did everything backwards. I laughed at myself. Now Im making my sister a 3 pocket sissor holder and I made a embroidery palm tree with her name a long time ago and thought I could put that one on. Well I did sew it on and to my surprize It didnt desolve. I could of cryed. But I took out my sissors and sat down and cut and cut and cut it away. I bought some desolving stablelizer that should desolve with water, but half of the roll wasnt the desolving kind. They made a mistake, well I did take it back and they did give me a new one. but dang What a hassle. I should of checked first but no i thought it was on the right one.

I did the same thing when working on a hidden wells block. I had to take one half of two blocks apart. Now that you have given yourself a good orientation of sewing and ripping..........things should go easier. Keep on making them! Good ideas Crafty_linda_b Are you thinking it would make a bow tie if using the same fabric for the center? |
 That would be my luck too. But it sure looks nice!
it looks good! i had to laugh cuz the first time i tried the 10 minute table runner - well lets just say it was more than 1 hour probably closer to two! lol
I just love the colors and the fabrics. Looks so fresh and clean!
Nice job, and the next one won't take 45! |
Love the colors!
Sorry it took you that long, it would take me longer. The block is very pretty.
I have done several (4) and didn't like the bump in the middle so I went to the back and cut out 1.5" square and it lays so much better and I know Lizzie will like to quilt over it better now.
I don't know what a 10 minute block is. Your fabric choice is fab'. My imagination tells me this will be a great quilt if you go with it. I will do a search for the block.
So worth the finished block - love the green - how refreshing.
your fabrics are gorgeous. Sounds like you were having a bad day. But the block that came out of it is wonderful
took me a hr first one i made kept sewing it wrong once i got hang of it was much easier and faster your colors are very pretty
Very pretty. Don't give up. It will get better.
Thank you very much. I found the same prints in purple and pink so I might use all the colors in this quilt. What do you all think?
The first block is the hardest. I started on the 10 min block and averaged 7 minutes per block. You will get faster. You have it figured out now.
I love your fabric choices. |
oh love the idea of using all the colors! so cool~!!!!
I like the finished block. very appealing to my eyes (and I'm not a fan of green). I've seen some of your finished quilts and you do really good work. so I'm sure you'll get the hang of this block. good luck.
I love it ...keep going....
I really like your color and fabric you used. 45 minutes! Maybe I ought not try it.
It turned out very pretty!

sorry you had such a hard time...you are not alone though...took me forever to make a "10 minute block" as well...just so you know, yours looks beautiful...maybe it will get easier with practice..just write down step by step instructions for yourself :-)
Nice fabrics. It is going to be a pretty quilt.
Carrie, I love that block! Sorry it gave you a pain but I agree that the next one will probably be easier. I want to make one too- been thinking about it lately. Love the colors and the butterfly center! Make the pink one too and show us :)

I like your 10-Minute Block. Once you make a couple, it will get easier and quicker. My first one took me longer too.
I haven't tried that block yet but yours is very pretty.
Thank you! I am off that work on a few more. Hopefully I can get more than 1 made this morning. LOL!
Sorry it took you so long but the colors and block are beautiful!
Well, it turned out great. At that rate, how long will it take you to make the quilt? heheheehe!!
Like that!
45 minutes isn't long to produce something that pretty
Okay the first couple are like that, but after that it makes up for it. They do go really fast. Love the butterfly fabric.
I'm right there with you. I think it'll go faster the more of them you do though.
OOOOOO!! I LIKE THAT!! Very pretty. The colors really make it. Thanks for sharing. (Remember - the more you do it, the easier and faster it will get - I'll bet your second one will only take half an hour!) (snicker)
