Took me a week to FMQ a panel !

I belong to the slower than molasses club, but am loving every minute of it. Good thing I don't do it for a living! I really admire you quick and accurate quilters. Going fast makes me nervous LOL In continuing to practice my FMQing, I have turned to quilting panels for charity. In outlining the shapes I am learning to maintain control for the designs that follow. This is the first one I have done without the stitch regulator on my Tiara II sit-down mid-arm. I still struggle with what to put in the design areas, but am gaining a bigger repertoire of choices as I continually try new shapes and designs. The panel gives me freedom in that I don't have a huge investment in piecing time or cost in fabric. I am pleased with the result and hope it bring a Merry Christmas to some child.
Panel: Springs Creative Products Group CP46544 Backing: DINOSAUR by Riley Blake C4162 Finished at about 34" x 40" Thread: Superior Bottom Line Statue #652 |
What a cute quilt and your quitting is really nice.

So adorable! Fantastic job!
That's all!! Beautiful

Really nice quilting. I am a scardy cat when it comes to FMQ. My practice fabric is usually good but as soon as I start the real thing it messes up. I will keep practicing on my home sewing machine (no stitch regulator however )
wonderful job!!! Your attention to detail shows.
Cute quilt and wonderful FMQing!
Gosh this is a cute quilt that will make a child very very happy! Your quilting is paying off by going slow. I bet everybody starts out slow and steady. This is just so sweet. I like all the different motifs in the different blocks. I really like the spirals in the blue section.
That's a good way to practice. Your clam shells are spectacular.
Oh my gosh, what a great FMQ job! The quilt is adorable
Very pretty quilt.

Apparently "slow as molasses" is good! Nice work!
Your FMQ is great! I love the panel too.
Your quilting is great. You have to quilt at the speed you are comfortable with. Someone is going to adore this quilt.

Quilt is adorable but your quilting is outstanding!

These panel quilts are exactly how I gained confidence in FMQing and you will too. Practice, practice, and more practice and you are completing a project @ the same time. Your quilt looks great.

Your quilting is very well done! Love the quilt.

It's an adorable quilt, and you are doing a wonderful job with your quilting! Speed isn't necessarily a good thing. I'm very impressed with your work!

Cure! I like this pattern - who doesn't like dinosaurs?

You seem to have found your "groove" even if it is slower than you want. Your FMQing is awesome and really sets off the subjects in the panel. Great job, keep up the good work.
Great quilts seem to take a little longer but it will be worth it in the long run. Love your quilting.
