I've seen this before, truly amazing ... Yes she is Ultra-organized ... BUT she would need FIVE life times to ever use it all !!

Thanks for sharing. You are a very fortunate woman. First of all, to have the space for all of that; and secondly to have the resources by which you can purchase all of it. I know you must feel you are in Heaven when you work in those spaces. hanks again for giving us a tour.

LETIA 07-29-2011 09:10 AM

It is so organized.

Horselover 07-29-2011 09:11 AM

Mine too. I saw this before and I think she beats out most people, including the OP. The OP has a wonderful stash, though, and so beautifully organized....

Bueniebabe 07-29-2011 01:36 PM

I don't want to part with any of my fabric. Last time I counted cookbooks I had 700. I also have tubs with yarn for when I do plastic canvas. I make magnets for the trick and treaters. Some don't want candy; just magnets. We have way to many hobbies at our house. Twenty years ago we quit decorating cakes. My husband air brushed pictures. We got to busy and it wasn't fun anymore. Before that we had a small greenhouse that husband built. When it wasn't fun we quit. We grew african violets and catus from seed.

grannie cheechee 07-29-2011 01:40 PM

That is some stash!!!!! I didn't see any labels on the bins. LOL

grammysharon 07-29-2011 02:22 PM

Holy cow, I have never seen so much fabric outside of a store.I am blown away. I want to see all her thread, etc.!!!

msquiltalot 07-29-2011 02:31 PM

Your stash is soooo organized. I can top your stash, but if I take the time to take pictures I'll never complete my projects. My friend and former LQS owner stopped me from shopping until I sewed or donated some of my fabric. My quilting friends shop in my stash, it's closer that our LQS. I purchased an Innova 22" longarm machine earlier this year because I had so many quilts to be quilted that it came pretty close to justifying the cost of the machine. I won't get into the number of sewing machines. Is this OCD or what?

Latrinka 07-29-2011 02:47 PM

Well you just go on wit ya bad self girl! You certainly are blessed! Love your organization! But I'm like everyone else, I want to see your quilts. We just love looking at some quilts!

Bueniebabe 07-29-2011 03:48 PM

how many machines do you have?

Maybe1day 07-29-2011 04:09 PM

What a lovely neat sewing area, how I do asp[ire to one day having mine so nice. Can't top that stash though but do think my friend could. Thanks for sharing

ns 07-29-2011 04:25 PM

WOW! Nice stash! Did you have a store?

mountain deb 07-29-2011 04:55 PM

If I can get to the camera, I can top that, 10 times over, but the stash is in a mixed up mess at the moment. I have been going through my storage boxes thinning out my stash of fabrics and old quilt tops/quilts.

ladyshuffler 07-29-2011 05:28 PM

My understanding is.not a good idea to store fabric in plastic bags....sealed

ging10ging 07-29-2011 05:30 PM

It's nice to have a store at home to shop in. I think I would be overwhelmed and get anything done. Happy for you. Sue

Stash? What stash? All I saw in your pic was the Jim Morrison poster. Go girl!

pjnesler 07-29-2011 06:19 PM

Beautiful layout - thanks for sharing

mcwillia 07-29-2011 06:22 PM

I went to a fabric "yard" sale today. There were 8 tables, each stacked with fabric by color at least 12" high. The seller had worked in fabric stores for over 25 years and looking at the amount of fabric, she must have simply turned over her paycheck each week. She said her last fabric sale was 20 years ago and at that time she sold 12,000 yards of material. I purchased 85 yards and my friend bought 29 yards......we barely put a dent in the total. She said that she still needs to empty the "sewing room" which is so packed that she can't work in it. The price per yard.......$2

Irish Jan 07-29-2011 06:25 PM

Just unbelievable - good for you and I hope you use all of it. Doesn't fabic get old and faded over time? I have alot myself and tell God not to take me too soon, I have too much sewing to do.

MadQuilter 07-29-2011 06:26 PM

Good grief - you have BOLTS. You win!

I am wrangling my stash right now because I have to empty my sewing room so we can set it up better. DH is all excited, My little wood-elf loves to use his power tools and he gets to cut my cabinets down to a more manageable size.

fabric whisperer 07-29-2011 06:30 PM

very nice, I am getting more and more organized each day that I pick at my new room ~ love it!

daisey 07-29-2011 06:55 PM

I have a large stash but yours is bigger and I have 30 kits...I have you way beat in machines...3 treadles, and a long arm w/frame, and 10 other sewing machines..accuquilt w/dies about 10 dies...I love fabric and thought I was pushing it but you definately are more of an addict than me!

Bueniebabe 07-30-2011 06:01 AM

did you add onto your house for all those machines?

milikaa1 07-30-2011 08:34 AM

So jealous, can not top that now but maybe someday LOL!

lslaton 07-30-2011 08:39 AM

Wow!! you have an amazing stash and so organized. I would like to come play with your stash.

I've been told this several times too[ on Simply Quilts]
That is why I buy shelving and hang material over the front of it so material can breathe....

Fabric has a long life if it is stored properly. The trick is to keep it out of the light, cover it with a dust sheet and be sure to talk/pet it on a regular basis so it doesn't feel unloved.
