Gee Gran of 6 I thought the other thread was funny. I know my DH would love the bag you made--it would be easier to de-poop the yard with yours since it has handles LOL. That is the ultimate in recycling dog food bags.

Rhonda -- if you love advertising graphics, you would probably enjoy the current fabric grocery totes my local food store is selling fo 50 cents each! They feature mascots from cereal (i.e. Tony the Tiger, Toucan, etc). :lol:

Cute bag. Too bad about the smell. I was thumbing through the latest I think Better Homes and Gardens quilt magazine today and they showed a bag made from a dog food bag. I didn't read the article but maybe they had a clue on how to de-stink it.

I kind of liked the idea when I saw it in a magazine. I was wondering if you washed it really well and cut off the bottom part that has the heavy seams, it might take away the greasiness and smell. Personally I would just cut it long enough to have a cute picture of the dog, forget thee advertising. You could use it to carry your doggie's supplies on a trip or a picnic... Just a thought. I'm going to give it a try as soon as I have some extra time on my hands...LOL

Charcoal briskets takes odors out too. Put a small baggie (with holes) of them in the dog food bag (after it is clean) & let it set for a few days

Wash in vineager water to cut the grease.

Old underwear is sometimes used in dollmaking. It can be used to make socks or used as stockinette in a mask over type head and bust. Just saying. :0D

I've done this with a couple of rice bags. Yes, we buy rice in 25 lb. sacks.

That's a good idea; rice doesn't stink or isn't greasy. I just can't see the point of spending all this time to degrease a dog food bag when I could be sewing a cute bag from fabric scraps and thereby making GOOD use of my precious time. As a side note. Was helping my grandson pack up to take him to a day of soccer and offered to let him take the Ol' Roy bag. He kindly declined.
