Train Quilt
6 Attachment(s)
A few years back, I got this great idea...I'd make my brother a train quilt. Seems simple enough, I began with a panel and some squares I bought on the internet and designed it. I wanted to make sure it was big, so I added extra length and width (cuz I am crazy apparently). Well it ended up being ginormous...what was I thinking. Hours of work to get finished with some FMQ and lots of tying (he wanted it tied like grandma used to do). In the end, he loved it as you can tell by the last couple of photos:)

Well, it's no wonder he's nuts about it... it's awesome! I love those panels... they're great! You're such a good sister! WTG!!!

Beautiful quilt and that grin says it all (very happy brother!)

It's beautiful, and I can tell - he's not giving it back any time soon.

How sweet you are, he looks soooo happy with it.

That last picture is so cute! The quilt is wonderful. And I love the idea that he knows about and appreciates the work and tradition quilting encompasses. Congrats to both of you.

He will cherish it forever! :) |
That is such a neat way you used the trains.....very good selection of fabric around it. From the smile on his face it was a hit. It looks so good on the bed.
Nice!!!! Love it..I also am working on a traing quilt right now...Yours is AWESOME!
Awww...now that is just sweet! Beautiful job.
It is a cool layout. Obviously he is thrilled with it. You sure made his day.
That quilt is gorgeous! I am going to make one for my brother one day also. I bought the beautiful fabric last year for it.
What a good sister you are.
Awwww - made me teary eyed looking at his expression....men aren't normally very expressive (at least mine isn't!), and its obvious he adores his new quilt. It'll bring memories of Grandma (the ties on the quilt), his love of trains, and best of all, made by his sister. What a nice thing to do! Love the quilt, too! Perfect!
Very nicely done, he looks like he loves it
