Tropical Charms
4 Attachment(s)
I am calling this quilt ‘Tropical Charms’. It is a little larger than a typical ‘queen’ size. The piecing is loosely based on a tutorial my sister found on a Missourri Star Utube video called ‘Falling Charms’. My blocks are slightly different from the video and quite a bit larger (16”) but they went together in the same way as the video. The quilting, done on a DSM (JukiQ2000) is a free-hand flower and vine design just stitched randomly throughout the center blocks. The gray, white and black borders are a little more controlled and repetitive. Then the pink outside border is what I call ‘exploding feathers’. I have always been intimidated by feathers and I just decided to play with them until I felt comfortable with them…..well, semi-comfy. I know there are plenty of mistakes within this quilt but I hope you enjoy the pictures!;)

I love both sides of this quilt. The four patch posy charms make this a very creative "falling charms". You always do such creative treatments on the back. Great quilt and great quilting. Another one for my bucket list.

Wow! Your FMQ is astounding! Love those exploding feathers! You have nice control with your stitches and a fantastic eye for pulling it all together! Your top is very pretty and I like what you've done with the back of the quilt. You could flip your quilt over any time you wanted and still have a lovely quilt to look upon!

Pretty quilt. Great quilting.

How beautiful. You not only kicked it up with your additional strips, but I just noticed you pieced each square, that took a lot of time to do that for the effect.
How big is your finished square. I tried to figure it out and decided it must be about 7" finished. |
Love it, it does looks tropical and fun. Your quilting is great.
