Rainy day quilt tents in the living room -- obviously that's why I made them. . . :)
Goal appears to be to blanket the entire living room. RST |

Aww, that is so cute, reminds me of when my gd was small
Exactly what we make quilts for. Just love the photos...of the quilts and the kids playing. Brings back happy memories.
My twin ten year olds started it, but then the teens kind of got sucked into it too (and the dog, as you can see by the tail.) Kind of sweet to see them all playing at something so innocent and creative.
They show LOVE! Perfect display!
OMGosh! How fun!! My brother and I used to do that ALL the time....it was such fun. My kids did it too....they'd get every chair and every blanket we had and have these long tunnels in there "tents"....such fun :D
Awesome!!! Reminds me of my 3 boys when my were little :)
so cute. reminds me of my "tent" of blankets i made on my grandmothers clothes lines. it had no top of course!
What beautiful quilts! And what fun the boys are having
I remember doing that as a child with all my brothers and sisters...FUN.
lol at least they are using them
How fun!!!My brother and I used to do that too - brings back good memories.

Precious memories. My great nephew built himself a 'man cave' in the sewing room today. Used a "Hello Kitty" throw, hooked it over the closet knob, over a sofa table, pulled a chair up to extend it and block the entrance from unwanted intruders - meaning me and his uncle.
I should have taken a picture, but didn't think of it. Am still chuckling over "Hello Kitty" throw forming the roof of his "man cave"! By the way, he 'designed' his first quilt today - the old faithful '4 patch' x 4. It's for his bird. Of course, all the designing was done outside his Man Cave. |
Such a fun thing to do, and such a fun thing to see. Love it!!
Love your quilts!!
Lovely quilts!!!! I especially like the first one! How about posting a pic of it so we can see it in all its glory? 8-) It sure looks like a fun day for your sons!!! I remember my brother and I attaching blankets to the fence and having a long tent. We would play in it for days on end! Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory!! It's also fantastic to see that there are actually children who like to use their imaginations and not just their thumbs (i.e. playing video games all day long)!!! :D
I remember doing that as a kid. What fun and doesn't cost anything. Enjoy!!!
Love it!
Such fun. I cherish my memories of my sons and grandchildren doing that when each were little. I remember one time when the living room drapes got involved, too. Of course, they were still hanging at the windows on the rods. Thanks for bringing back my fond memories.
Aw, the sweet memories of three boys, quilts, sheets, G.I. Joe and kite string. You can't imagine how long it takes to get to the only bathroom when G.I. Joe ties up the path!
And there was that time that my sister and I fed my grandmother's "curtains" into the fan for half the night. (They were hanging on the rods, too.) They were new plastic! Imagine, plastic curtains. Really, they deserved the fan. |
Perfect and I like the quilts too.
Reminds of having day care kids. I would set up 2 card tables next to our dining room table and put sheets/quilts over them and the older ones would drag the babies in their seats underneath and play and play. I could rock one baby and ask one of the older ones to lift up and let me peek!! This was ongoing one winter. That and trains made with cardboard boxes!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays for everyone. |
oh I used to love to build "forts" and "tents" inside and then have a PBJ in that tent and then, of course a good long afternoon nap!

Love to see when quilts are being used!
Looks like they were just waiting for a chance to "cover" the living room. And I bet giggles were the order of the day, too. The quilts are beautiful.
Looks like they are having fun!
AWESOME!! They will remember this!!
I have 2 little boys- one is 4 and one just turned 7. We had our first sleepover (just one little boy) this year and we made a tent out of the dining room table with quilts and they slept in it all night. They all fit. WHY didn't I take pictures???? |
How I miss those days when the kids were small enough to make forts all over the house - you are very lucky! enjoy them.
LOL! That's great!
It looks like great fun! And the quilts are beautiful too!
My boys are certainly capable of spending all their time in front of a screen, exercising their thumbs (video games), so I do extra enjoy it when they do something fun and creative, like the quilt forts. IT was specially sweet since they made sure that one worked for the youngest brother, who uses a wheelchair -- had to break out the tarp ties and bungy cords to make that work, but it was definitely worth it to make one that was wheelchair accessible ; )
