I dearly love this! Looks wonderful with these fabrics. I have not made the Tumbler but have the Accucut Die for the 6 inch Tumbler. Have the flannels to do one soon. May need to shout with questions. Your DH is talented to cut the template! Great idea.

My DH just cut me this same size pattern for the 5" charm squares or for a strip that is 5" wide x wof yesterday. He used a very sharp blade in his table saw and made a jig to cut the template. He is a retired signpainter and used masked (paper on both sides of the plexiglass to prevent scratching) plexiglass that he purchased from a sign supply store. It is the same thickness as all my rulers, which is 1/8". He's made extras for me to give to my quilting group.
I've sewn a few tumblers together and you need to pay attention to how you line them up, they need to be offset the slightest bit so when the seam is opened up, the blocks will form a straight line. Also, press the seam open.
A side note, DH was looking over my shoulder while I was typing this and wondered what the DH stood for, I told him, "Dear Husband" and he said, "no, it's designated hitter" LOL. He thinks husbands should be called, "DOH" for Dear Ol'Hubby.
I think I might have to get the dots to go on the ruler, that would help tremendously with the slippage on the fabrics.

wether he prefers DOH or DH, sounds like he is a keeper. That was nice of him to make one for all the ladies in your group.

Fons & Porter have a fool proof method of lining them up.Measure in 1/4" from all 4 corners and where the seam lines cross.join the2 pieces at those points. Works like a charm

Lovely, I hope you have a cottage, because the colors look very shabby chic.
And would make a great addition for someone who has that decor.
