This is a quilt I made for my DH's favorite neice's wedding. I started last November before my shoulder surgery and finished in January '11. Today we finally get to give the newlyweds their quilt. Her wedding colours were black/white/cream, which I didn't know at the time, as they got married in Costa Rica in January, so, I guess it was just luck I decided on these colours. The pattern is just various star blocks I got off the internet and then I used Eleanor Burn's Starry Nights sashing using the stars. I don't know what the colour scheme for her bedroom is, so, I really hope she likes it. For the label, I scanned the wedding invitation into my computer and then printed it on fabric using freezer paper.

Looks wonderful, love the setting. I'm presuming you used "treated" fabric for the label, right?
|
How effective ... the design and colour choices!
You've done yourself proud, Auntie! |
It's wondeful. I love how some of the stars connect throughout the quilt.

Beautiful quilt!!!
|
For someone who loves blacks and whites this is beautiful! I went back and forth from the front to back to see where you put the label, so, where did you? lol If she doesn't like it, I will gladly take it. I just can't imagine anyone not liking it and the work you put in, wow!
|
What a striking quilt!!!
|
I like it.

Thanks everyone for the great compliments. The label is on the back lower right side. The young couple loved their quilt, and the neice cried when she saw the label, as did her Mother. As it turns out, her bedroom is white with black accents...how cool is that. Apparently she has black and white siloutte style pictures on her walls from their trip to New York City. Her Mother asked me if I would make her a baby quilt when the time comes, and also if I would make a quilt for their 3yr granddaughter. I guess that means they liked it LOL.

Fantastic - your colors, setting, label & quilting.
