Twister Quilt using Kansas Troubles fabric line

3 Attachment(s)
I made this "Twister" quilt using the "Twister ruler". Wow, what a process. Cut all the squares and sew them together to make a quilt top. Then using the twister template, cut the top back into squares and sew together again. Like making two quilts, but you only get one. I decided to use a random placement rather than making a design. Wanted a scrappy look. I used the scraps to make the border since there is a lot of waste. Flannel on the back and stippled it. Used the flange binding method - which I really love to do. Thanks for looking.

Very pretty - like your fabric choices.

I like it. Haven't tried using this tool yet but you gave me inspiration!

Ooooh....love it! KT is a favorite designer for me, and this quilt really shows off how wonderful a "scrappy" quilt can be, even if you use just one fabric line. Wonderful quilt :)

I just got the twister tool for 5 inch blocks and made a doll quilt out of it for my great niece. She loved it and so did my sister. I am going to make a baby quilt next, I really liked doing it. Your twister quilt looks fantastic! I just love the color placement in it. Did you use the ten inch tool or the five?

Podunk Princess 05-30-2013 05:48 PM

It's beautiful. I like the random placement of the blocks. You've inspired me!

It's beautiful, love the mix of colors.

I used the tool for the 5" squares. This is a lap size quilt, so to make it large enough required a lot of blocks because, as you know, you lose a lot of inches when you recut the blocks with the template!

I like your quilt. That is a good way to use up a lot of scraps! You did a great job.
