Two baby quilts from scraps
2 Attachment(s)
I had left over gray Minkie from the backing of our DD's Christmas quilt, so tried to incorporate it into two baby quilts for charity using two different arrangements of a Disappearing Nine Patch. I bought the character prints, but used the white and colored FQ's I had. More practice for FMQing and a hopefully a win for a charity.

I never thought of using the minkie WITH cotton together in piecing the top. What a great idea. Yours look great. Thanks for sharing.
Those are cute baby quilts.
Love them both but the first one is my favourite

Super quilts. BrendaK

I really like them both. The recipient will be one luck person to receive one of these quilts. Beautiful job on both.
Those are both so nice!
Superb job! Love the quilts!
They are both adorable. Lots of good scraps.
Thanks for your post. I really like your pattern and spent a good deal of time with my graph paper and pencil recreating this design. I have many red. white and blue farbics and think they would show well in a quilt for The Fisher House which I need to get made, but didn't want to spend months in the making. I have a hard time picking the more rapid patterns and your post has helped me alot. Thank you again.
Love your colors and layout. Have a couple of quilts to make a set of twins in the wings soon so this might do the trick. Just waiting for the color scheme from grandma.
Those are just lovely..
Love your D9P layout but didn't realize that you had used Minky. What a great way to use up scraps.
Well!! How cute are these? You have mixed it up with the solids to make it different than I have seen the D9P before now.
Those are both great and the charity is indeed the winner!
Both are beautiful!
I love those baby quilts, so modern and fresh looking! I made a dp9 a few years ago, it's super scrappy and colorful. I like your more contemporary take on this pattern.
Love both your quilts.
They turned out real cute.
Ohh Thank you for posting your photos using Minke squares. I also have left over minke. I love both your quilts. Do you have any tips for piecing with the minke?
Wow. I am impressed because Minkie is slipper stuff!
both are adorable... what great gifts for charity. I have not done a D9p ... was yours a standard d9p or some variation? I would be very interested in using that pattern as I have just finished my third Warm Wishes and need a change of pace.
Very Nice and think of how the Child will love feeling the Contrast between the cotton and the Soft Minky fabrics as they snuggle up in it...
I LOVE these!! Lucky person who gets these!
Both are great! Nice use of the minky, and fun fabrics~

so that my directional focus fabric all faced the same direction, including the nap of the Minkie. It limits the design possibilities, but was happy with the results. |
Am taking note of your use of the white as it really makes the pattern stand out more.
Thank you for the inspiration and lucky little ones who will receive them. |
Job well done!
