Very nice--lucky children!
Very pretty they well enjoy these I'm sure, lucky Grands:)
Is that close up of an open pocket? That would be perfect for a little girl with lots of Polly Pockets (my granddaughter, quickly comes to mind!). I love the fabrics in both quilts.
Are we really so close to Christmas that you all are finishing projects or am I just so far behind???? |
Those are both lovely, I am sure your grand kids will cherish them.
I have never seen the detail on the girls quilt, looks like a twisted bow. Is there as name for this ? |
They are both beautiful quilts!! Of my 5 quilts I plan to make for each of my gk for Christmas, one is completed(!!), one is at the LA, one needs to be made larger and quilted; and the 2 Ï Spy's" for the toddlers need to be cut out and pieced. I'm envious that you are finished!! Great job!

Very nice. The kids will treasure them forever.
Thank you for your kind words.
I found the pattern for the twisted bows in an old book. They were fun to make. **Linda, I only have two grandchildren. If I had five to sew for... I would have had to start on them two years ago!! :D |
won't they be thrilled with those lovely quilts!
Some very lucky grandkids, they will adore their new quilts
so nice, love the colors
I just bought some route 66 fabric at Joanns here in waco and making a quilt for a baby. that is the theme of his room, I love yours you did a fantastic job. Mine will be different but I like yours.
Both are wonderful. Love the eyes peeking over the 2nd quilt. :o)
beautiful quilts !!!
Beautiful quilts.
That twisted bow looks like a very interesting process. I looked for quite a while trying to mentally sew that. I think I messed up. * * !

My mouth was over between the two eyes, until I hit "post Quick Reply"
Yooper, the twisted bow isn't hard. It's like making a sleeve of sorts, different fabrics on each side. Then sewing one side down, twisting twice, then sewing again. The squares are kind of womper-jawed till you sew the rest of the block together.
both are very nice
Your DGKs are going to be sooo happy. I loved the attic windows, but I saw the pink cat one and loved it just as much. I especially like the little twist you added.
