Did she change her mind after seeing what a beautiful job you did of preserving the treasures for all to enjoy?? I sure would have. No use keeping it folded and hidden away when it could shine like these beauties do. Congratulations on a terrific job. Wish I had some to share with you. Blessings. |
they are both beautiful...

What a wonderful keepsake. I LOVE it!

Beautiful! I have 50 hankeys of my mom's you have given me some great ideas.
|
I wanted to say thank you everyone so very, very much for all your lovely comments. I appreciate them all so much!!
My Aunt loved the quilts once they were made but still didn't agree with cutting them up. I did feel as if I were creating an heirloom... the hankies were already heirloom to me so I simply arranged them so they could be enjoyed everyday instead of tucked away. Again, the book is: Hanky Panky Crazy Quilts by Cindy Brick No affiliation Thank you again! |
Very nice and something I have never seen before! Thanks for sharing.

I inherited several beautiful hankies from my grandmother. They are way too beautiful to actually use (can you imagine blowing your nose on these?). I have always cherished them and now I know what to do with them to keep them safe and still be able to appreciate them. I also have one from a great aunt that is so fragile I never even open it. I wonder if I could make it into a wall hanging?

Very very beautiful!

Your quilts are beautiful. I took a class at the Road to CA show this last Jan. from Cindy Brick. She is a great teacher. I made a "Hanky Panky" quilt in the class that I just love. |
You have treasures that will be keepsakes forever!

I have been collecting more hankies for another quilt that I have found in Antique and 2nd hand stores. Unfortunately, so far I have found mostly white hankies. But... I know that this too could make a stunning quilt! I love these little quilts because they are so portable!! I love doing handwork when I am out and about waiting for appts. etc.
Thank you again everyone for so many kind comments. You have made my day (s). :-D |
What a great way to preserve precious memories.
