I really appreciate all the ideas and advice I get here. I am getting better at free motion quilting and I tried my first binding pulled to the front and top stitch. I would not have done either until I found this website and reading your posts.
Here are two autumn projects I had sitting in pieces and just finished. My sister does the cross-stitch and I couldn't think of what to do with it until I thought "pumpkin". The colors are off in the picture, but you get the idea. Pumpkin wallhanging Table topper Better FMQ |

I haven't tried feathers yet, looking good! I like the striped fabric in the patchwork as it gives a different look to the overall design.

Really like the table topper. On my list of things to do for Christmas.
|
They are both lovely.

Looks great from here

Wonderful, the more fmq you do the more confidence you will gain.
I also put my binding on the back and roll it over to the front but I use a very small zig zag. It shows up less it is on the very edge and you don't get that little lip between the edge and the straight stitch that flips up so again it looks a little better. I use a width 1 or 1.5. |
Very, very nice! Your FMQ is better than mine, for sure. ☺
|
Looking good, girl!!! Cute tabletopper!

Very nice job! I read on here once that "practice makes progress"! That is what I keep telling myself when I FMQ!!
