If you love making these and want to play with this a bit further. . . I wonder how it would work to increase the size of the strips? Wouldn't this make a larger, almost lap sized quilt??? I KNOW some preteen or teenager would LOVE getting one of these through Project Linus for their hospital bed or bed at home. And, though most adults don't realize it, they'd appreciate the work and art of it. Since you don't have family to share with, this would be an awesome charity quilt if you cold make it larger.

Wow!! You have done a wonderful job with these. I was too intimidated to try one. One of these days...... maybe I'll get up enough nerve. If you wanna make more....I'll send you fabric. heheheh!

You can adopt me too! Love this and would love to make it to coordinate with my bed quilt and hang it above the headboard. Guess this, too, is on my list of things to do!
|
They are very lovely.

. I guess I could make some as gifts but I don'tve much family to sew for.
Well yes you could make them as gifts....I for one would be pleased to be included in your family to sew for!!! ;) |
Beautiful!!!! Another project to go on my wish list to make. Thanks for sharing.

Neat! Love these, nice color choices. I can see where those would be very fun to make.

They are so pretty........

quilt with strata pattern
Someone may have said this already, but I think you could make a quilt with wider strips and/or more strips. If you increase the size of the strips, you can make it larger. It may be an odd shape, but could have borders to make it rectangular for a bed.

I have an old, old (1990) pattern for this where the star is the center of a bed quilt, and portions of it are in the corners, etc. I haven't looked at it in a while, so can't remember exactly how the corners are, but if you are interested in making one of these into a bed quilt, I can go get the pattern and let you know more (maybe even a xerox of the picture.)

Beautiful quilts. Does anyone know the angles that were taped on the ruler?

These Strata Stars certainly are addictive. I'd love to make more but where do I put/use them. I've used one as a table topper and one as a wall hanging. I guess I could make some as gifts but I don'tve much family to sew for.

So very cool! I agree with others here - figure out a way to make it a quilt! Great Job!
|
You can always adopt me as family! :-) They are beautiful!
|
Very nice! Lovely colors too - haven't made this yet - would love to give it a try!
|
I watched the tute on utube.......then did a search on the web and found a site for just the pattern - $9.75, by a Ruth ????, so I was going to buy it and proceeded to check out until it asked for my info, name, addy, password, login.......that would be published publicy on Etsy.....I did not want that....tried to go around it, but it was a necessity, so needless to say, I did not order the pattern from there....Anyone else have a source for just the pattern, as I have more than enough fab to do it!!!!!!!
|
I sometimes lay one in the middle of my bed. I gave one to a friend & she uses her the same way. It's the first thing you see when you walk past her bedroom.
I love the way you hung one on the wall. Great idea. |
Wow. How neat. I've never seen this before. Very nice.

Why not add setting triangles to square it up and add borders for a lovely quilt whatever size you choose?????
|
Absolutely beautiful. I love strata stars!!!
