Two Strata Stars finished

2 Attachment(s)
These Strata Stars certainly are addictive. I'd love to make more but where do I put/use them. I've used one as a table topper and one as a wall hanging. I guess I could make some as gifts but I don'tve much family to sew for.

They are really cool. It is on my list of to do. Yours are so pretty.

Grandma Bonnie 11-26-2012 05:35 AM

They are both beautiful! Is there any way to make a quilt with this pattern?

#1piecemaker 11-26-2012 05:39 AM

Wow!! You have done a wonderful job with these. I was too intimidated to try one. One of these days...... maybe I'll get up enough nerve. If you wanna make more....I'll send you fabric. heheheh!

bmillet 11-26-2012 05:42 AM

These are so beautiful, where can I find this pattern?

QuiltnNan 11-26-2012 05:49 AM

ruthrings 11-26-2012 05:57 AM

I'm with everyone else. I want to make this into a quilt some how. It's a fabulous pattern and yours are great!

Here is a link to the Strata Star on U-Tube and at the end they give you directions to get the pattern.

I'm not sure if I will get into hot water for saying this but I did it just by watching it on U-Tube step-by-step...MANY times as I was making them.

It would be FAR beyond my skills to be able to make this into a quilt...but then I am a relatively new quilter/sewer.

Pam S 11-26-2012 06:15 AM

They are beautiful. I love the colors of your wall hanging against the yellow wall.

Tartan 11-26-2012 06:21 AM

Beautiful!! How did you get the one on the wall to hang so perfectly? There is a quilt pattern that uses that pattern for the center with a lot of smaller ones around the edge. I have seen it posted on QB but I don't remember the title.

Jingle 11-26-2012 06:34 AM

Both are beautiful. You could make more in different colors and exchange them every so often to hang on your walls.

DawnA 11-26-2012 06:51 AM

Nice, but honestly the quilt under the table caught my interest! I love the orange and blue colors and the pattern. Would love to see a pic of the whole thing.

sash 11-26-2012 06:55 AM

Wow; beautiful wall hanging. Thanks for sharing.

javin22 11-26-2012 07:51 AM

Really nice! I can see how they would be addictive. I have bare walls and table you could make me one. ;)

Very nice! I don't think I have seen one in those greens and golden yellow, added to my want to do list. Thanks for sharing!

Believe it or not it is hung there with 3 straight pins. I learned that on this board and it really does work well....isn't this board the greatest. I think my quilting friends are tired hearing about the "quilting board" all the time but they LOVE most of the tips I pass along...but they still don't log on...LOL.

purplecat 11-26-2012 08:30 AM

pdcakm 11-26-2012 08:49 AM

SittingPretty 11-26-2012 09:04 AM

Yours are so pretty! I made one last year, but it was a little haphazard. I really love how your stris are all the same width, and you've spaced the tones nicely. Lovely work!

Pennyquilter88 11-26-2012 09:07 AM

Wow! Impressive work!

Lilrain 11-26-2012 10:31 AM

I want to make one, and after seeing yours, I think it is getting much closer to the top of my "to do " list. Love the one with greens, my favorite color!

busy fingers 11-26-2012 11:50 AM

PGHPAT, you did not give us the link for the strata star on u-tube.

I realized that I didn't include it and corrected my mistake on post No. 18.

Here it is again.

mighty 11-26-2012 07:47 PM

Love them!!!!!

PghPat 11-26-2012 07:47 PM

I apologize . video on U-tube just Google sew r posting without the link but I'm working on my tablet and don't have full editing capability.

To watch the video on U-Tube just Google "sew easy strata star". She does a great job with the demo.

BrendaK 11-26-2012 09:50 PM

I really need another sister, how about it? Beautiful work. BrendaK

northern lass 11-27-2012 04:11 AM

Love your stars. It's on my to do list. Been putting it off as they look difficult to do.

fran624 11-27-2012 04:22 AM

You can find the pattern on Cheryl Phillips web site I think it runs for 10.00 She has lots of patterns and uses the 10 degree ruler.
