This is UFO# 7. I actually started it a few weeks ago. here is the finished top. I decided to add sashing and corner stones to use up even more scraps.

Very interesting how much the cornerstones and sashing enhanced the design. It's very beautiful.

Greenheron 10-28-2012 07:13 AM

Lovely, the sashing and cornerstones may have been intended to use 'more scraps' but you took the design from okay to WOW! with them.

oma66 10-28-2012 07:19 AM

Oh, my, that sashing and cornerstones really set it off in a beautiful way. It was lovely before you added them, but now it is awesome. I want to make one...if you don't mind. You really have an eye for what takes a quilt design even further up the road to awesome. Great job!

Beautiful. I love that quilt and will be looking for that pattern for some of my many scraps. Thank you for showing it.

justflyingin 10-28-2012 09:29 AM

I agree that the sashing and cornerstones made it a "wow" quilt. Before, it was just "ordinarily okay". Now, it's really pretty. A copy is going in my quilt ideas on my computer. (That's a compliment!) :)

GwenH 10-28-2012 09:55 AM

The sashing and corner stones really added to it... nice work!

I like it with the sashing and on point. It's funny, I was never much for scrappy quilts except the antiques, but I am liking them more and more with the pics on here. Love yours!

Nicely done! Best of luck on the storm; hope you come out of it okay. When I was pregnant with our first child, we had the worst ever Halloween storm in southern Minn. Couldn't go anywhere for 3 days.

You have a great eye. That top is fantastic! The sashing and cornerstones really add to the design. I may have to "borrow" your design:) Thank you so much for sharing.

LoisM 10-28-2012 07:08 PM

It's wonderful, ube! I'll be praying for the safety of everyone in the path of Sandy. My brother lives in Upstate NY and they're already anticipating power outages (at the very least). I just pray the river doesn't rise near his home. They've had to evacuated twice in the past few years.

Sdwill 10-28-2012 07:43 PM

Beautiful. I really like it with the corner stones and sashing. Please stay safe during this storm.

Bataplai 10-28-2012 07:47 PM

Excellent choice to add the sashing and cornerstones... that added so much to the look, and it's beautiful!
Last year we had a power outage and my husband brought in a deep cycle battery with a power inverter so I could keep sewing.
Sending good thoughts for getting through the storm.

heather1949 10-28-2012 09:19 PM
