Ugly bag + orphan blocks = cute shopping bag
1 Attachment(s)
I really don't like using freebie promo bags. So I looked through my orphan blocks, added some batting scraps and I think I ended up with a pretty nice looking shopping bag. Looks totally different with that printing covered up. I'll have to say the appliqué was a little tricky since I didn't undo the side seams.

Very cool. Looks a lot better now and great idea to use up the orphan blocks that are sitting there saying do something with me

what a great idea. I have some plain bags I am going to do this to
Good idea - now that is called upcycling!

I love doing this. They then make grw at gifts!
I will be doing this with some of my "free advertising" bags. Great idea.
The bag looks so much better now. Your block is really nice.
Great idea. In my city the stores are not allowed to give out plastic bags anymore so this is a really good idea. Will have to do this to all of my bags now. Thanks for the idea.
What a great idea! I have a stash of these bags and didn't want to throw them away - now I can upcycle the bags and get rid of UFO's at the same time. Thanks so much for posting!
Wonderful. I am always happy to see the use of cloth bags for shopping and when dressed like this, even better!
peace |

Nice, nice, nice.....what a good idea for those bags that are useful, but not so attractive!
Was the original bag cotton? I have quite a few bags but I think that they are nylon. Do you think this idea would still work? Thanks for sharing. BrendaK

Great idea. I have some that I have reluctant to use because I did not like the message. This certainly takes care of that!
Decidedly much better looking.

That's a good idea!! I used some to make trick or treat bags, I didn't think about your idea!
Very neat idea! I use a lot of those & will put some of my orphan blocks to good use.
