I love anything with houses. I think it's very pretty.

n2stitches 07-18-2011 04:26 AM

Definitely Stack N Whack. The uglier the fabric, the prettier the quilt!

alleyoop1 07-18-2011 04:29 AM

Would make an excellent background for an art quilt scene of Paris. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Di 07-18-2011 04:40 AM

I made curtains out of it. I was looking for more, the curtains need replaced.

kskwilter 07-18-2011 04:41 AM

Stack and Whack!!! Even ugly fabric comes out amazingly gorgeous!!

Sewfine 07-18-2011 04:55 AM

I think it is cute.

Rettie V. Grama 07-18-2011 05:04 AM

I don't see that piece of fabric being ugly. I see it as an artist's pallet of an english countryside cottage. I think it is beautiful, will you see or exchange it?

And the totes I had gone through so far contained pretty fabric...mostly Moda and Thimbleberries...

But I've reached a tote that looks like older fabric...from the 90's...

And you know that saying "if the fabric is still ugly it means you haven't cut it small enough"?

Well...I beg to differ...you couldn't possibly cut this stuff small enough...though I will try...

And not only that...there are FOUR YARDS of this ugliness!!! LOL

hcarpanini 07-18-2011 05:05 AM

One block wonder!!!!!

quiltlin 07-18-2011 05:08 AM

I love the fabric!!!

MrsGuava 07-18-2011 05:10 AM

I thought Stack n whack when i saw it too...although those are so not my colors. HAHA

munchkinmama 07-18-2011 05:18 AM

I like it. I guess it shows that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would love it as a backing.

Maire 07-18-2011 05:27 AM

I think it would make a beautiful backing!!! In fact I have something similar that I plan for a quilt back.
Many years ago when I was first quilting & took a class the teacher recommended using a busy print for the back because you can hide a lot of mistakes!

I wonder 07-18-2011 05:27 AM

I like this fabric too!

GladGrams 07-18-2011 05:44 AM

Actually I like it too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

darleneerickson 07-18-2011 05:44 AM

Stack N Whack?"

vickig626 07-18-2011 05:50 AM

I like it too.... I'd make a blouse out of it but I like "busy" blouse fabrics.

Maybe once you get through all the totes, you can sell off what you don't want. We'll keep our eyes open.

nickylsf 07-18-2011 06:00 AM

It would be great fussy cut for paper pieced houses!

Maybe that's why I don't understand. I live here in Europe and I think the fabric is fine. Window boxes are all over the place. The pattern is a bit impressionistic, but Monet was famous and his paintings are much less realistic.

What I consider ugly are the colors that aren't quite the colors they seem like they are supposed to be--almost orange, almost green, almost tan, etc.--it all feels like the 70's over again only a little sick. Others seem to love those colors and some people's blogs only seem to have those colors in their choices. (I was at one today--this morning, but can't remember where).

Maybe you can do a OBW since there are so many repeats. Either way, please show us what you do with it if you decide to tackle that project.

Joyce DeBacco 07-18-2011 06:10 AM

That's not ugly at all. I've got ugly. Used it in small blocks among many others and it just blends in. But if you really don't like it, you can use it for the backing. And what's left can be cut and used in a scrappy quilt like I did.

pugmom 07-18-2011 06:16 AM

It would make really cute tote bags.

fallonquilter 07-18-2011 06:31 AM

Stack n wack would be perfect!!!!!!!!! Have you ever done one?
They are so fun and easy to do. This fabric would take on a whole new look. You need 8 repeats.

lillybeck 07-18-2011 06:34 AM

You can send that to me any time

If you are into making house blocks cut out the windows, doors, hanging baskets, roofs and applique them on some of your own blocks. Lots of potential there!

Just what I was thinking to use it for........personally I kind of like it. It's different. I like different........lol

I've found that the most ugly fabrics turn out looking nice when used as coiled items found in the book, "It's a Wrap". Just a suggestion...

Kathleen charnell 07-18-2011 06:50 AM

That fabric would make a great one block wonder!!!

cuppi duke 07-18-2011 07:00 AM

I like it. It would be nice ina bargello or anything that would break up the pattern. The colors are pretty tho.

Baloonatic 07-18-2011 07:03 AM

NOT ugly! I like it :)

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 07-18-2011 07:19 AM

I actually don't find this fabric to be ugly. Not sure what I would do with it but I have seen far uglier fabric than this one. A stack-n-whack comes to mind or some kind of fiber art wall hanging maybe........

Pat75 07-18-2011 07:29 AM

It would be great ina water color quilt where the pieces are cut at 2in.

twinkie 07-18-2011 07:31 AM

And I think it has a lot of possibilities.

Hmmmm...you probably did see me! LOL Unfortunately, you don't have picture of yourself in your avatar, so I don't know which bidder you were. :)

G-maBecky 07-18-2011 07:47 AM

I really like this fabric!! I have lots of ideas whirling around in my mind. Hope you find a way to enjoy this fabric!

mommafank 07-18-2011 07:47 AM

Beautiful as a backing for the right pattern! It makes me think European!

katrbee 07-18-2011 07:49 AM

That is so funny. I was given a bunch of this fabric and asked to make a donation quilt out of it. I found some turquoise and some yellow that looked okay and made a simple quilt allowing the houses to show and looked like a french countryside. It ended up being auctioned and making money for the group. Remember someone out there will love it.

luvstoquilt 07-18-2011 08:10 AM

I really love it! Would make it a back if it were mine!

Do you have a picture of your quilt? I'd love to see it! :)

With all the comments everyone has made, it has made me look at the fabric in a "new light". I have put it into my stash and will prob. make a baby quilt out of it or use as a backing for a baby quilt.

Farm Quilter 07-18-2011 08:18 AM

This is awesome stack-n-whack fabric!!!

debbieoh 07-18-2011 08:19 AM

I love this. are you going to sell it cheap????
