This is fabulous, kudos to you I work with the homeless downtown and the warmth of blankets is so appreciative. It is cold where I am. I do charity quilts and it gives me such satisfaction.

I like to make quilts for Project Linus. Figured it would be a good way to practice my piecing and quilting skills. But I get so much more - so many of those kids have nothing but the quilts we make for them.

We make quilts also for families in need. You guys are awesome. Love the bears to go along with them. The police in this area give a stuffed animal to children that are involved in accidents. Your quilts have saved lives and depression I am sure. There is always a need. We should all be challenged to answer this need of the less fortunate.

Do you request certain items from various organizations? Do you get a lot of clothes, or do you request just things like blankets, sheets, etc.? We mainly request blankets, spreads and sheets to make the quilts. We also include with the quilts a ditty bag containing various toiletry items, clean t-shirt, pair of socks, and church reading material. We just don't have the room for a lot of clothes, so if we receive that we pass on to other needy organizations. Have a good week and count your blessings, DonnaB. |
