Chasing Hawk: A Laural Birch fabric cannot possibly be classified as UGLY, sorry!!!

wildyard 05-03-2010 07:18 PM

I'm not sure why, but I really like Nancy's fabric, and I like that last piece Yolanda posted too! But I have to say, my uglies are looking better and better. LOL

JoAnnGC 05-03-2010 08:59 PM

I think I inadvertently insulted my DMIL this afternoon when I asked her if I could raid her stash to find an ugly piece of fabric for the contest. Of course she denied having any!!!

Sorry Yolanda that isn't an ugly!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 05-04-2010 03:45 AM

Yolanda's isn't even close to the competition. Hers is not all that bad at all.

Everyone better get to digging in the stash if they want to be Jungle Road Kill.

cjomomma 05-04-2010 04:10 AM

My family never cares when talk about the board but they are loving looking at all the so called ugly fabrics. I say so called because some are not ugly. As Soon as I say here is another one they come running to have a look. Lol

OMG!! Wait until you see Moosegirl's fabric. She posted in the wrong area, so you'll just have to wait until she reposts here.

8-)

OOPS, she's here.................

This isn't the original one I thought but it is not so good either. We do a fat quarter draw and I won the night that the theme was German and African items. The african one is better for this but I hid that in my mothers collection (she still hasn't found it)

That one is just crying out to be mated with mine -- just imagine the results!!! (Am I hearing some "head" music somewhere in the background -- and is that incense I smell burning? Ooooh, wooow)

The Ugly Scrap Challenge is really bringing out some weird, but wonderful stuff.

Shame on whoever wins this challenge.

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 05-04-2010 06:37 AM

It is obvious to me that Moosegirl and Nancy are Dead Heads. Those two fabrics had to be bought out of the back of a purple hearse at a Grateful Dead concert!

Head music and incense? You didn't mention 'the munchies'

Yeah -- apples dipped in peanutbutter, those marshmallow cookies with the chocolate coating ... and double check that the door is locked up tight ... and what was I saying?

Omigosh! You hid your ugliest fabric in your mother's collection!!! That's really funny! Why didn't I think of that!

I did... I think that is how I keep getting it back! She does the same thing to me. So it's pretty funny somedays to see what I actually have in there. I think Nancy's would make a really nice looking Stack-n-whack. I'm told the ugliest stuff works really well in those patterns.

I think that might have been the original intent, but got dizzy trying to find the repeat, especially wearing trifocals. Even tried without glasses on and could have sworn I had a flashback from the 60's.l

yolanda 05-04-2010 07:21 AM

will you please cut out one mug for me for my ugly collection?

Nope I don't like this one at all but I have a BIL that would like a quilt made with the german beerstines (sp?).

Swan Song 05-04-2010 02:29 PM

This is too funny. I have a couple that I have gotten with online orders as "gifts" that I think are way ugly but I don't think I can beat anything here!

Might not all be my cup of tea but not really ugly. I have found the ugliest, but need to get a pix of it. Just you wait and see.......you might not want to look.

Edit: What was I thinking??!!?? Oh, yeah, DD needed an african dress for some school thing.

Sorry, that isn't ugly either.
