I've done this a few times as well, when I found I had sewn the block in wrong or found a hole. It's very doable.

I'd fussy cut a few circles and place them randomly.

How about trying some fusible like a patch on the back to keep it together?

applique, I believe that is why applique was done by our grandmothers. Also if you scatter a few around the quilt, nobody knows why and think it is a part of the design.

Hey Just applique an orange circle over the hole. Looks like that there is already one on the side seam! I think that would be just great! Happy Quilting!
