Unusual Baby Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
I made this quilt for a friend of mine who is a veterinarian. She doesn't know what sex her baby is and doesn't want to know. So color choices were difficult. I decided to do something different. The embroidery designs are BABY FARM ANIMALS by Anita Goodesign. I'm basically a beginner at this so it's not professional by any stretch. It was fun though !

Cute!! I kind of miss the challenge of making quilts when you don't know the sex of the baby. Your's is great.

x7lillies 10-17-2012 12:36 PM

I think it's too cute! Bright colors for baby and a chance to learn the names of the animals. There's enough going on to keep baby interested, but not so much they're over-stimulated. I think you did a great job!

What a terrific idea for a veterinarian's new baby and I love the non-traditional colors and binding....really special!

katesnanna 10-17-2012 07:11 PM

That's so sweet. I love the colors and the fact that she doesn't want to know what sex her baby will be.

That really turned out cute. Love it, and am sure the baby will love it, too.

DonnaC 10-19-2012 07:42 AM

That's a neat baby quilt. How big are your animal embroideries? I have an embroidery machine but can only go up to a 4" hoop. I know most of the Anita embroideries are way bigger than that.

carolynjo 10-19-2012 08:07 AM

I think everyone's going to love it!

IBQLTN 10-19-2012 09:41 AM

I do love the quilt , I think it's a really nice use of the embroidered blocks!

Sometimes I try to read quickly through posts on my lunch break and when I first looked at you post I thought you said you made it for someone who was a vegetarian! I was trying to figure out what farm animals had to do with not eating meat! :o

wordpaintervs 10-19-2012 10:28 AM

she'd surely going to love that. Let us know if you get a chance to post after the baby arrives.

Congrats to you for the quilt and her for the new baby. YEA YEA YEA
