I have a couple quilts that my great grandmother made in the 50's that have some frayed material...I've bought reproduction fabrics but haven't been able to bring myself to start the repair process. Thanks for posting, it's helpful to know that others are facing the same chore and are intimidated by the process as well. These quilts are worth saving and it's great to maintain the heritage of family treasures.

My first quilt, log cabin, is in need of repair also but I think it will remain that way to remind me to beware of large chain store fabric. I have to remember to check the thread count closely. Bless you ladies for taking on such a challenge. It will be well worth while. Makes me rethink fixing mine. Good job to the first time sewer.

Glad to see this. The quilt my paternal grandmother made in 1897 is coming soon. My sister got it from our sister who passed leaving it to our daughter. The daughter didn't want it, so here it comes.
Now I have at last an idea of where to start with it.
Thanks! Mariah
