Not 100% finished, but too great to wait to show pictures! My wonderful husband wanted mom & I to have a better use of our space. He designed the table to accommodate and support large quilts that would slide easily across. He covered the table with black out lining. All the machines are flush mounted. He still plans to add lighting, cornice boards for the windows, & a cutting table with shelving underneath on locking wheels.

Mr. Awesome cutting the holes for the machines.

That's me painting. Good picture huh ;P

Flush mount, still need to finish underneath.

An L shaped room, makes it narrow except in the corner. So with just the cubbies on the long wall and the peg board across from it , the room feels more open.

He put the peg board between the laundry room & bathroom doors, easy to reach for my height challenged mom. We tend to set the ironing board up here.

He added a couple of shelves over the narrow part of the table.

Sorry it's blurry, the only shot of this angle. DH is replacing this table with one at cutting height. The built-ins were already in the room. Still need to organize everything on these shelves & the cubbies.

Space in use. Very blessed to have my mom live with us.

Awesome!

Questions on the flush mount for the sewing machines. Do you have to lift the machines each time you want to change the bobbins? We are getting ready to make a long table for some of my machines. Thanks.

Fortunately all three of the machines bobbins are on top. However, the reason for the opening in the front is because both Brothers "on" switch is below the table. My husband happens to be an engineer who grew up in his mothers custom drape shop and his fathers machine shop, so he understands many sewing/engineering needs and would have made the table to accommodate a front loading bobbin. I think what he said is the front of the table would flip down for access. He knew to ask us about the placement of bobbin loading! Boy did I pick the right guy to marry
