Ummm. I think you are set if the world falls apart! He should be glad you have it at today's prices! Tomorrow's are going to be much higher! I need to get organized like that. Send me some motivation, please!

skothing 07-25-2011 12:25 PM

Now do you see how tough this job is? I want to get the rest organized but have to get though the fabric next. DH says he thinks I need another peg board. Do you think?

A lot of this was bought when money was flowing and we hadn't a worry.

You can do it. I bought some fabric from a local quilt teacher that is only 70. She isn't expected to live. Her children where over whelmed by all her things. They where selling everything and just beside themselves. I don't want my children to have the same problem. After all this is organized I plan to down size. Believe it or not I have been giving things away. Not a dent.

What are the hours at your new store? Whew! That's a lot of stuff to organize and keep that way! But you're set for a long time.
Blessings,
MaryAnna

Jim's Gem 07-25-2011 12:45 PM

Hmmmmmm..... You have more notions that my LQS!!!! Ok, maybe not quite that many but looks like you won't be needing to buy needles for a while!! LOL!

skothing 07-25-2011 12:50 PM

my Fons and porter needles where 39cent a pack. The other needles I bought when Jo Anns has 50% off their notion wall.

QweenBee 07-25-2011 12:52 PM

loves_2_quilt 07-25-2011 03:10 PM

May I shop in your sewing room?!?!

buckeyed 07-25-2011 03:13 PM

You will be ready for any job now!!

PaperPrincess 07-25-2011 03:23 PM

Wow, you really can get your creative juices flowing just looking at your walls.
But I hope those pegboards are really well secured. Lots of stuff on there and it looks like you also have your embroidery unit hung. Might want to rethink that...
Ask me how I know...

Jingle 07-25-2011 03:53 PM

Yea you got to be careful hanging things, My friend and I where in her basement folding fabric and you guess it! Put it up on the shelving on the wall and that night while getting ready for bed .... it wasn't pretty. All the work we did can down with a thundering crash!

GV09 07-25-2011 04:49 PM

WOW! You did a great job!
I think I dare not put everything in sight, so my DH does not "see" everything! So use drawers!
Hahahaha!
I loved seeing your spools of thread, are beautiful!
A hug!

sewwhat85 07-25-2011 05:36 PM

if you moved your thread spool holders and mounted them on the wall it would free up some peg board space. My thread holders like yours have screw holes in them you can mount them directly on to the wall. Just a suggestion

brushandthimble 07-25-2011 05:40 PM

Looks like you could go in business:)

gigi10 07-25-2011 06:32 PM

Especially since you know where all of your stuff is and it is visible. Enjoy sewing when you get done. You deserve a great pat on the back. :-D

sewdarnbusy 07-26-2011 04:33 AM

I'm still laughing about your poor hubby. Men don't get it. We like to set up our sewing rooms like a workshop studio. Your studio is fabulous BTW, not excessive at all. LOL

I quilt with 2 friends and we tell each other about sales. It is good and bad. I ended up with so much I can barely move from its weight. Quilting is a group thing as well a a single hobby. I went to a Ruth McDowell work shop and she reported she has 3 friends who get together once each month to share their works. I loved her idea and try to do that. She is a wonderful teacher and has several books available.

Here is a pic of us 3 giving a co worker a quilt we jointly made. It is in honor of her 41 years of work.

MaryAnnMc 07-26-2011 08:21 AM

That's your sewing room? I thought it was the local quilt shop!!!

GramaLaura 07-26-2011 08:38 AM

That's not a studio......it's the local quilt shop!!! Nice job :-D

mshawii 07-26-2011 08:59 AM

Hey, you need to have all that stuff to be creative, right? Ask him how much he has in his garage as far as nuts and bolts. My husband had his in clear plastic containers and he has lots of them so you deserve all your spools and needles and rotary cutting blades, etc. I bet he is proud of what you make and you couldn't make it if you didn't have your "STUFF". So enjoy the organization. Good Job!!! Jan
