Ok with the fabs I got from angels, I said I'd keep you updated on quilt. Most of my time lately was cutting 5 inch blocks to make 4 patches, then cut again for my small blocks. Here's these. Angels.. Can you see your fabs being used?????

They look great, Bev! Do you plan where to put fabrics or just grab? I'm not very good at just grabbing, but if that is what you are doing, I really want to try it. Yours look so pretty.

Pam 05-15-2010 02:34 PM

Nice points there! It is going to be a good
quilt.

I seperate my 5 in. blocks into colors and Try real hard not to put 2 of the same color next to each other. Other then that I pretty much just grab. Its fun. No planning, just a suprise in each block and alot of oooooooo's ans ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh's.

:-D

If you can't see it when the quilt's done - don't worry about it!

Very nice, Bev! I think I spotted a couple of my scraps in your pictures. Will you sew all the blocks together this way, or will you use sashing?

Sue

No sashing cuz I "think" it'll take away some of the design. I noticed when I layed them side by side it took ANOTHER whole design of its own. Theres more then a couple of yours in there hun. I used them all. Sure is exciting. The more I do to it, the more fun it is.

OK, I am fairly new at quiltling... how do you make the small blocks without having to cut all those triangles..I know there has to be a simple way of doing it.. Be sure to show us the finished quilt.. looking good so far. PM me with ifno please.

Your blocks are stunning. It is lovely to play with the blocks. The sky is the limit. The best part of piecing is playing with the pieces. Thanks for sharing.

JEM65 05-18-2010 12:00 PM

I just love how a quilt made from scraps that weren't bought together, in all ranges of colors, sew together to make such a pretty eye pleasing palette!

raynhamquilter 05-18-2010 02:26 PM

Hey, who said you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear? They were wrong-you do a fab job!
