Just an undate on my almost finished quilting shed. Pictures of the progress are: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-103882-1.htm.

The carpet is half down and the other half will get put down this week. It now has it's first piece of furniture, a slider/rocker! Guess I'm ready for guests! Provided the rest of the carpet get down, I'll start moving in the first of next week! I'm finishing a baby quilt, so I can't move my frame until that is done, but a lot of other things can be moved. I'll take more pics once I start getting things in and arranged!

First piece of furniture!

Love the quilt and I really like the chair. I have seen a couple of American Rockers over the last few years and definitely have one on my "wish list". Your studio (I refuse to call havens of creativity mere sheds...) is coming along nicely.

PamB8s 06-22-2011 06:36 PM

This is a stunning quilt

alikat110 06-22-2011 06:57 PM

Did you change the paint color (behind the chair) to white?
It's been a lot of fun to follow your progress on this project!

No, it is just the lighting. Some of the pictures make it look darker than it really is. We have white baseboards that will go up once the carpet is down completely.

I will definitely post a picture of the baby quilt once it is completed. There was another quilter on this board that made one very similar and I just fell in love with it. It's for my new granddaughter that will arrive in August. The white is eyelet fabric.

Baby quilt is soo cute. Sounds like your quilting studio will be wonderful! To me a shed is small dark and would be creepy to quilt in ! Lol. Studio sounds bright airy and inviting. IMO

Thanks for your inspiration and info on the eyelet, Sheree! Couldn't remember who had posted it, but it is working out well. I like that the eyelet doesn't have holes for the batting to work out! I finally found a good hopping foot for my Voyager that is making the quilting a lot easier.

grammysharon 06-23-2011 07:13 AM

I love the baby quilt and am excited to see your completed "shed".

Very beautiful baby quilt, love your sewing room.

Taffkat 06-23-2011 01:39 PM

That is one BEAUTIFUL quilt! LOVE the colors and fabric choices

sylviak 06-23-2011 02:08 PM

THE CARPET IS DOWN! It needs to sit and dry for 24 hours before I can start moving things in...and I've got to get that quilt done! Can't take my frame apart until I get finished with it. Can't move the furniture out of my walk-in closet (where I now sew) until the frame comes down!

However, my cutting table is getting moved this weekend and I'm bring a dresser up from my MIL's old house the make into an ironing board with drawers. I also need to start packing up my stash to move, and it is everywhere!
