Boy what a great way to repurpose the upholstery fabric. My sister works at a furniture store and she is able to get these samples as well. Are they hard to make and are you going to sell them and if so, what is the price and would y ou share the instructions or patterns with us.

I want one!!!!!!!!!

As I am tall....I need one with long straps!!!!!!!!

I went to a local market and purchased an upholstery bag last year, but the strap broke....she used some fine thin leather for the strap and it was not strong enough.

I can say this for sure, I do love your handbags!!!!

Quiltylady 12-12-2010 08:12 AM

Really nice. Thanks for sharing them.

Tootsie 12-12-2010 08:51 AM

All of these are very nice! I have some upholstery samples as well, so here's more on my "to do" list :-) You did a great job.

SewExtremeSeams 12-12-2010 10:02 AM

I like what you have done. They look to be very sturdy purses. Are you giving them for gifts or selling them?

butterflies5518 12-12-2010 10:27 AM

great idea, I have a few of these remnants as well and was wondering how to use them - thank you for showing yours

miz mary 12-12-2010 10:49 AM

lynnie 12-12-2010 11:52 AM

they are so nice. love the color combos

bourvel 12-12-2010 12:09 PM

These are just lovely, you did a great job. It is possible for you to give us the pattern or let us know which one you used.

AnnaK 12-12-2010 12:18 PM

Love your bags. I have some remnants I have been saving but they're small samples and I don't have enough of any one to make a bag, however I like the way you combined fabrics to make your bags even more interesting. Thanks for motivating me to add an upholstery bag to my to-do list for 2011. Did you use a pattern or make up your own? Any chance you'd consider doing a tute? You did a beautiful job.

Dkm 12-12-2010 12:30 PM

Due to illness my sister just closed her upholstery shop. I guess I need to go visit the shop while I'm visiting her.

No this is not the Bowtucks Pattern. There are many requests for the pattern I used ..... and I will have to pull it out and see about scanning it into the computer .... then I can share it with others. The pattern itself is really pretty easy to put together.

Nell 12-12-2010 01:51 PM

Thank you.

terry leffler 12-12-2010 01:58 PM

I would love the pattern- I have bouts of "bag making"!

jellyrollnut 12-12-2010 02:35 PM

Love your bag! The fabric really makes that bag. Love to see the pattern.

Did you use any lining or batting?

With you having such a supply .... thought maybe you would like to some close-up pictures the other bags.

Thought I'd share some more ideas that I have done with Upholstery Samples. Our Pastor at church asked my husband if he would design and build him a Kneeling Bench for the church. He made the Kneeler ..... and I upholstered the padded kneeling area, using Upholstery Samples.

Quiltntime 12-12-2010 03:39 PM

What a great idea! Makes me want to go to my nearest furniture store. :!:

Great job and they are beauties............pab

I like using upholstry fabric for purses, they can be washed in the washer on handwash cycle in cold water & hung to dry. They last a long time. Love your bags! Would like to know how you put your pieces together...did you serge them or sew them? Did you use a foundation to sew them to? Would like to know what pattern you used also. A tute would be nice, if you could.

CarlaHope 12-12-2010 07:23 PM

Now I have to go looking for upholstery samples
