Your quilt is great. And the tutorial is very good, straight forward and easy to follow, I read the whole thing even though I don't I would attempt to do this. Thank you for sharing, when I get back home I'll look in my stash for fabric for Arizona.

What a wonderful piece! We must be on the same wave length for so many of us have thought of doing a map. I bought a piece of fabric that has the states and the name of the capitols on each one. I figured I would make my niece something with it since she is in grade school still.
I am really looking forward to seeing what the other side will look like.

Alaska is the largest state in the United States in land area at 663,268 square miles (1,717,856 km[SUP]2[/SUP]), over twice the size of Texas, the next largest state. Alaska is larger than all but 18 sovereign countries. Counting territorial waters, Alaska is larger than the combined area of the next three largest states: Texas, California, and Montana. It is also larger than the combined area of the 22 smallest U.S. states

Soooo if Texas gets a 1/2 yard, then Alaska gets over 1 yard. Lol...

That is fantastic!!! My daughter taught 5th grade this year and the students have to memorize where the states are and the capital city. (Since I graded most of those tests, I am pretty good now.) But many years ago I had planned to embroider a quilt with the states' flowers and birds. I still have the iron-on pattern, but never made it. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to send it to them. I just need to find it.
