Using up stash, making some bed-runners
3 Attachment(s)
Here are two bedrunners I've made recently.
One, I call "Coconut Cream Pie." My husband called it the Tan Rainbow. I had a drawer full of just white, ivory, and tan fabrics left over from bigger projects. So I auditioned the fabrics until I had a nice blend of seven fabrics ranging from light to dark. In the photo, I have placed it on an orange lap quilt just for contrast - otherwise it would have been harder to see against the beige carpet. Contemporary looking. The second, I call "Brooke's Star" I picked out two complimentary blocks from two different sources and made this runner. I've had the blue floral sashing fabric (a little less than 1/2 yard)for a few years, so finally put all of it to good use. The light blue fabric was a FQ, and I used up all of that too. I like how it looks classic, yet fresh. |
I especially love the blue runner!!! So very ice. My stash is getting huge, so I need to start using up.

Very pretty bedrunners! Isn't it funny how they are all the rage now? I don't know where the idea originated but I love them!

I like the top one. How did you do it? Please PM me with the instructions.

They're both beautiful, but find the tan one intriguing. Not sure I'd make one, but would enjoy hearing how you plan it out.

You know, that might be a good way to use the orphan swap blocks I've accumulated. Great stars. Love the colors. Good job, my quilting friend.
|
I love making bed runners as they are a great way to quick change a room. I make the winter ones with thick batting and the summer ones with thin batting.
|
Both are lovely!!
|
Very nice. I am doing the same thing plus making some quilts. Plan to sell some.
|
Beautiful! The Coconut Cream Pie is a unique design. I love the blue also. You could use these for table runners if you have a long table.
|
They are both very pretty though the tan one is my favorite. Very interesting pattern.
