Using Up the Stash

1 Attachment(s)
All the leftovers went into a bin. Then I cut them into 3 inch pieces and sewed them all together into long strips to make a quilt like this.

The aim was not to *think* too much about it, and just be surprised at what it made when I got through...

That's really pretty!! Really liking the colors

Ada Shiela 02-22-2016 01:55 PM

Random 3inch strips certainly made for a vibrant, fiery pattern; it looks very nice and warm.

QuiltnNan 02-22-2016 02:03 PM

really great

Cam's gram 02-22-2016 02:39 PM

Turned out great!

Nice use of those leftovers. Bet it went quick using 3-inch strips.

ManiacQuilter2 02-22-2016 02:43 PM

Nicely done. You had a color palette of mostly blues with a few teals and oranges so the quilt came out fabulous.

Thank you all! This is so encouraging. This quilt is also the first I've done on my Tiara, and it was great to feel like I was quilting a piece I could relax with as I learned the machine.

I love these string quilts and especially love yours. Great job. I have lots of strings, and have made several quilts like this. Guess I need to get the "ole" trash bag out and get busy. I am trying to use up some stash and just do some simple quilts just to quickly get them done. I love simple. Thanks for sharing.

RedGarnet222 02-23-2016 10:36 AM

Darn, using the computer at the library and it won't open that attachment

GramE 02-23-2016 01:35 PM

I love these when other people do them! I love all the blues in this. But my brain cannot wrap itself around the turmoil. That is what it sees at my house, I cannot see to the end, the finished product. Wish I could.

cindy anne 02-23-2016 05:50 PM

I like this a great way to use scraps or combine fabrics from the jelly rolls you just had to have with no project in mind. Not that I would have any of those...

QuiltnLady1 02-23-2016 06:03 PM

Great quilt. The colors are great together and the placement works well.

joyce888 02-23-2016 06:12 PM

ctyankee 02-23-2016 06:54 PM
