Valentine quilt for nursing home
 

The River Valley Stitchers made paper pieced blocks. Anne put it together dealing with all the problems of a group project. And I quilted it. It will hang for February at a local nursing home. We are in the process of making one to hang each month so that the environment can be changed. They have been so well received. I have been actually hanging two a month. I was hanging one and a resident came in and said no, hang it on the other wall where I see it while I am eating. I assured her I had another one for that wall too.

I had to go to the DMV recently and it took 3 1/2 hours to wait my turn. I was happily walking around the departments for on the walls were fabulous quilts hanging around the entire building. What a treat to have a quilt show there for me to enjoy while I was bored silly. I didn't even know they were there!

OOh! I love this quilt. And the back is just as beautiful. I have a 91yr. old Sister in the nursing Home. They play bingo in the dining room in the afternoon. I'm making lap quilts for their prizes. I'm kind of slow tho'. I didn't mean to interrupt your thread.

What a great way to brighten up the nursing home. During the winter months, we could all use some cheering. Thank goodness for quilting to occupy the hours while we are house bound : )

So pretty. I showed my hubby and told him about your groups project. He travels to nursing homes and cares for the residents. He thought it was a great thing y'all were doing. I bet the sweet woman who wants to look at your quilt while she eats day dreams of her Quilty years gone by.
