I love it right by the lake, Moonpi, but I would find it impossible to live there, because the midges eat me alive, even if the setting is magical. BTW, it is from the jetty here that there is a boat to take you to see the Isle of Inishfree, (immortalised in one of Yeats' poems)

Thank you, these were wonderful to see. The castle is so marvelous. Wih I had one. <sigh>

Your snowflake quilt was the absolute best! My other faves were the nativity quilt and the large sampler.

Thanks for sharing. I just love to see what others are doing and these are all lovely - especially yours. I had to look County Sligo up on the map. We spent a wonderful week in Connemara about 4 years ago - near Clifden - but never made it up your way. Rented a house and used it as a base. My husband wanted to see the "real Ireland" not the touristy area in the south. I want to go back someday.

Oh, my gosh, didn't you just want to curl up in one of those beautiful quilts and sit for days? They are all wonderful works of art. YOURS truly was the most outstanding!

Midgies? Like our misquitoes? Bite and leave big whelps?

Thanks so much for sharing the pictures of the Emerald Lands! The castle would be fun to visit but don't think I would like the housekeeping bit, do you?

Hugs,
Sharon

Midges, Mozzies, you've got it Sharon, they eat me for supper, and I itch like crazy for days. And no, I wouldn't want the housekeeping, or the electricty bills for that matter, but it is truly picturesque, even with my poor versions of photos. You should have come up further, we have plenty of history in this area too.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments - I will pass them on as they all do nice work, it probably doesn't show quite so well, as I had problems with trying to get nice pics. Between us, we generally manage to make 30 - 40 quilts for Project Linus each year, so I am really proud of our little group.

What wonderful beautiful quilts! You surely have talented people in your group! I love the variety of styles of quilting too!

Thank you so much Lesley for sharing this with us!!
