Hope you don't mind but I wanted to put the Yeats poem up here, it's so beautiful and haunting, and one of my favourite poems. :D

The Lake Isle of Innisfree, W B Yeats

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.


It gives me goosebumps!

And Yeats was a great guy - apparently he once cut the sleeve off his coat because he didn't want to disturb the cat that was sleeping there but had to go out! And he used to sign his cheques 'Yours sincerely, WB Yeats'! A real gent! :wink: :D

Castles.....hum....here in the US, the closest we come to that is Sleeping Beauty's castle at Disneyland and it certainly doesn't have the charm that yours does...

If those in the world who think that quilters are just a bunch of little ole ladies who don't know nothing from nothing only knew how caring, and passoniate we are for our families, friends and the world we live in, they would have a better understanding of our talents and creations of our quilts AND I doubt that we would be looked upon as "little ole ladies"

Thank you everyone, I can't wait to tell our group about all your lovely comments. I just had to let you see pics of the castle, I had a feeling you would like to see those, aren't we lucky? The staff there are so good to us - they don't even charge us for the venue (I think they think that we will draw in more paying members of the public - charges are small, and they get to see the rest of the castle too.) Plus they make us tea and coffee ... can't ask for more, can you?

Love the castle. Lesley, your quilt is stunning. Love the icicles. One of my favorites is the willow. I have a partial set of blue willow dishes and think that something like this would be nice to display with the dishes. I will have to see if I can find her patterns. The celtic knotwork quilts always fascinate me, and these are beautiful. You have a very talented group. All of the quilts are great. Thank you so much for sharing the quilts and the castle.
