My quilt came!!! I say my quilt, cus it's mine now :) :) :) Henry made his Hope Among the Darkness quilt for me, because i have Huntington's Disease. Nobody knows how much darkness i have had at times, and when things are dark, it feels like there is no hope. On Sept 7, a few weeks ago, i woke up in the morning from a very very vivid dream. I dreamed that i was in church, and i was thinking how beautiful the cross is, and i was told no, it's not in the beauty of the cross that you find peace, it is in the brokeness of the cross, in our weaknesses, that we find hope. I woke up from this dream crying it was so real, because i feel so imperfect having hd now, and i cried seeing the true beauty and comfort is in imperfection. I thought about that dream all day, and that night i went to the forum, and Henry posted that he had just finished his Hope Among the Darkness quilt, and the first thing i saw, was i saw the photo of the quilt, and the crosses jumped out at me. I immediately remembered my dream, and began to cry, but you know what else i noticed? I noticed that the quilt is so black but that i've never seen blackness looking so beautiful, and to me darkness is scary, but the beautiful flowrs just fill up the darkness with such beauty. I'm sorry to go on, but this just is really special to me, and i can't believe that someone would just do this for me. I don't think Henry knew just how much this would mean to me. Thank you so very much Henry, i truly love this, and will cuddle it so much, it is so beautiful :) :) :)

What a lovely quilt and picture. Thanks for sharing. Hope you find comfort and light to help you through those dark spots when you curl up in your new quilt. Christine |
I ment to say I have heard of HD but did not understand the consequences of having it.
Its lovely to have a quilt you can curl up in, something special to give you strength through the bad times. I really do feel for you. Elle |
What a nice thing to do Henry, it just shows how thoughtful everyone is on this board, enjoy your new quilt. And thank-you Henry !!!!!
|
Henry you are so special. Wouldn't our world be a beautiful place if all people had as much compassion for his neighbor as Henry. To the receiver of the gift read Provbers chapter chapter 5. When my son was killed in the US Navy they sent his Bible home and there was only two passages marked and this one brought a peace to my family. All though he was gone the message he left was our answer to the many questions that we all ask when we are confronted with things we can't understand.
HAPPY TEARS! |
Awww, that was really sweet of Henry. He did a great job too!

That is great! I would never think of putting florals with black and they are really beautiful that way.
Great job,Henry and what a truly wonderful gift. You will reap what you sew. judee |

{{{Barb}}} That is indeed a very special gift. Your dream about the cross was meant to comfort you along with the beautiful quilt. Two reminders; one is God's love for us and the other is man's love for each other. There is still some goodness in this world. I will pray for you.

Awe, you guys are all so good...and yes Cissy, that's exactly what it was, just what you said, just a real nice reminder of both, it's so nice and so special when we get those reminders :) :) :)
