Vintage Feed Sack Quilt quilted!
4 Attachment(s)
I purchased this vintage feed sack quilt top at an estate auction in 2007 for $2.00!!!
It had not been cut or sewn together precisely and didn't lay flat, so I "nipped & tucked" it and got it reasonably flat. I also added the cream calico print outer border to make it large enough for a full-sized bed. I FMQ'd it using a thrift store-purchased sheet for backing (I used the sheet wrong side out to tone down the brightness of the stripes) and used W & N cotton batting. It is a gift for my sister. She lets us use her vacation condo in FL and I made it for the bed in her guest room! :) I love the way it turned out! I hope the person who made the top would be happy with the way it turned out! |
What an awesome quilt. Love it.

That came out beautiful! I love your choice for the backing and the quilting is lovely. How did you do the pretty label? It looks hand-lettered.
