I think your quilts are awesome! And they are definitely QUILTS!
Bring a dictionary next time and ask her is she cares to argue with "Webster".
Jayelee, your miniature quilts are beautiful, particularly the log cabin. You put a lot of work into them and they qualify as wall quilts in my eyes :thumbup: The first tiny one might fit a bed in a doll's house :lol:
According to Wikepedia quilt by defination is;
" A quilt is a type of bedding composed several layers generally combined using the technique of quilting. Many are made with decorative designs, and some of these are not used as bed covering at all, but are rather made to be hung on a wall or otherwise displayed." So they are wrong!! :D |
a quilt is 3 layers held together with stitching...has nothing to do with size at all,
and those women should browse an antique quilt book sometime...there are tons of beautiful, prized doll quilts from the 1800's! so sorry; you must live where the quilt police train? sorry, if it were me i'm afraid i would ask them that.. your QUILTS are wonderful! |
I have made a lot of wall quilts & definately consider them quilts! Yours are beautiful!
Someone up there should read up on quilts. I don't understand that one.
Who cares what they call them--they are wonderful! I especially like the second one but then again I am partial to log cabin. I admire you doing miniatures because I don't and won't. Good job!
It not the size that make them a wall quilts. :x Now that said, have you not put the same amount of love and you time into each one? :roll: That is what makes it a quilt. :thumbup:
There are many patterns out there for miniature quilts and I have some of them. Busy Thimble quilt shop specializes in mini quilts in civil war reproduction fabrics as made by Jo Morton. Those guild gals don't know what they are talking about....guess they are quilt snobs!!
