The small inner border is 1/2 inch wide and the outer border is 2 inches. So the overall size is 33 x 41...which of course can be changed up depending on how much border treatment you give your quilt. I didn't have enough material to give it any more, but I like the way it turned out anyway. |
I LOVE it!
I use to use minky for all my kids quilt backs. Now I use the ultra cuddle fabric from Joann's What I do is quilt the top to the batting. Baste the edges and toss it in the washer then dry it to make sure that it is going to shrink 100%, then I baste it onto the backing and quilt just enough to hold the backing in place. Then bind just like normal. This way the top and batting shrinks and you don't have to worry about a baggy back! :) I don't find it very hard to work with as long as you use a walking foot if your going to do it on a regular machine! |

ADORABLE!!
I really like it! The colors are perfect!
Adorable, IMO bright is great and those fabrics are so cute.
Very cute. I say "YES" to minky. Love the stuff.
This is just adorable.
Very cute!
adorable
Oh, this is sooooooooo cute!! Love the bright colors.
I used a light batting, very thin, and minkee on the back of my granddaughter's quilt and they live in Houston. It gets cold in some air conditioned buildings. The minkee is just tooo soft to resist!
So ADORABLE!! I personally like to use flannel for a backing but that is my personal opinion!
That is the perfect quilt for a child, just awesome!
Oh that is DARLING! Perfect little-boy quilt without typical little-boy colors. And I like that it's not too "baby." He can still use it as he grows. Good job!!!
Colorful and really pretty.
Minkee would make a wonderful backing. If you do use it, do lots of pining so it does not move for you.
That is adorable!
Great job This is adorable - I've never been one to do the ''pink for girls//blue for boys' thing.. How do we know what colors the baby even likes :D I always go for brite and soft fabrics
That is so cute! I'm sure they'll just love it! I don't think it's too bright, but it is colorful.Since they live in Texas, don't need to use batting, especially if you use minky as teh backing.
just adorable. I love it.
I love your bright blankie! I wouldn't use the minky - soft as it is - very diffacult to FMQ! Try some matching cotton with a warm and white batting!
Very cute, not the usual baby quilt. Good job.
I think it is just right for a baby....love the bright colors.
I love Minkey as the backing. I made a baby quilt of a panel and used Minkey as the backing and no batting. I live on the Gulf Coast and it's not needed here. I think it would be used more without batting.
That is adorable. I love bright baby quilts!
It makes me happy
w*o*w IT IS WONDERFUL
WOW, what a nice , bright baby quilt!!!!
This is so nice for the new grandbaby. Love the combination of blocks. He's gonna love it!
Lovely quilt.
Love it!!!
How Cute!
What a cute quilt! I saved it for future use as I have a number of HSTs left from several years ago when I changed my mind on a project. Now I have an idea what I can do with them. Thanks for a neat idea.
I love it!!
Love minky. I used it on the back of a longarm quilted baby quilt. The quilt turned out nice but it was hard to hand bind. It seemed like one direction of the minky was easier to sew than the other. I don't know if I would use it again or not.
Very nice I like it.
I love it! I love the colors and I think the pinwheels add a lot of interest.
